Live Music Recommendations

It’s been 4 years since our last visit so I’m assuming entertainment schedules have switched up since then. We are not late night folks, who has early-ish live music these days?

Sunday afternoons, Rendevous Lounge, live music, 10 to 12 of the islands best musicians. FANTASTIC.

I’m not familiar with the Rendevous Lounge, where is that?

In addition to the other suggestions, The Sandbar in the (former Caravanseri), now Morgan Complex, has different kinds of music on different nights. I confess I don't know which nights they have what kinds of music. There is also Karakter. They also have music a couple nights a week.

Also, regarding Fat Tony's, I love the music there, but the restaurant is way too crowded for me on Tuesday nights. However, there are several other restaurants in that area, including Spaghetti House, where you can sit outside and enjoy the music from Fat Tony's.

There is also The Hole in the Wall in Maho.

On Thursday nights when we were there last December, there was a very good (and lots of fun) duo playing at the Sint Maarten Yacht Club. I think she told me that on some other evenings they played at Hole in the Wall.

They play the music that most of us will remember from that time in our lives when music was of supreme importance (teens/20s). The crowd could (and did!) sing along to every tune. It was a blast!

I found this link in the "DH" some years ago. It's called Waahapen sxm. The back pages have the entertainment section where all the bands are playing. Our is "What the funk" at Sandbar on Saturday nights starting at 8pm! Bar Code has live music a couple of days a week. Mondays and Wednesdays I think. The owner, Ivan, is usually one of the musicians.

We love live music but are not even slightly late night folks so this sounds like something we need to do.

What a great local publication. Is there a central website for this publication? I would like to see the editions closer to and during our trip dates in a few weeks.

Where is the Sandbar?

As I stated in my original post about it, the Sandbar is in the Morgan Complex (formerly Caravanseri), site of Sunset Beach Bar.

so much fun at the Hole in the Wall,,,,hope it's still open when we can get back to SXM......some of the musicians that "used" to be at the Red Piano play there....It was a hoot!!

There was a fabulous restaurant in Cupecoy, a famous chef, a piano player that I so loved as he would play jazz standards that I loved to sing, so much fun, but it's been a number of years...is this restaurant gone now? The chef actually owned 2, and 1 did close years ago???

I believe you're talking about Temptation, which is gone, yes, unfortunately. Dino, the owner, is doing only private chef work now.

Was there last Saturday evening and a good time plus with some Sushii .

Seems that someone was asleep this week, there was no weekend entertainment happening section this week. SMH??? I like to check who's playing where and to fun events for the week. The FB page hasn't been active in some time!!??? I still miss the old K-PASA weekly flier!! I still have a couple!!!
