Does the sxm government still require us to send temperature readings for the first few days after arrival?

They require it, but I'm not sure anyone monitors it, as I screwed mine up. I didn't check my email until after I had arrived on island, so no way to comply with the instructions to do it before breakfast and outdoor activities, etc. They send the first one on the day you arrive, and I just deleted it, since I couldn't comply with the instructions. We did it after that though.

We never did respond to those emails, just deleted them, and no one came and got us, or slapped our hands. No one is monitoring these self check email responses, do you how much personal that would take, not happening. Those self monitoring emails are just another way to make YOU feel better, that’s all.

The emails were sent to my husband, but NOT me.

We both got ours each morning for first 5 days including arrival. We complied. Was no big deal. Took 1 min to do.

Not sure about other resorts but Oyster Bay has one on a stand in the lobby. Just did it each morning before our morning walks.

Flamingo has one for guests to use too. They also wand the staff and visitors for temperature as they enter the grounds. I presume RP would also.

When I went into Royal Palm in March, there was NO temperature check, at least I did not experience it.

Both gate entrances to Flamingo had them. Didn't have a need to park at RP so maybe my assumption was wrong.

When we were at the Flamingo for 4 weeks this past Mar/Apr and arrived from the airport in our Kenny's rental car the gatehouse checked our temperatures to drop off our luggage. We then took off to the Driftwood to kill time until check in (perfect day so far) then upon return to Flamingo they checked our temps again at the gatehouse. Then when we got our parking tag to hang off the mirror there were no more checks for the remainder of our stay. We used the the parking lot at Royal Palm many times for access to Simpsons Bay for shopping and dining and as long as you had the tag on your mirror just pull in and park, never a temp check.

Since you parked at building 3 you seldom had to go through those security gates. Pretty much once we were checked those same security attendants wouldn't check again it they recognized us.

So, does that mean that we have to pack a thermometer. Sorry this is the first I'm reading of this. i do know I have to fit out the paperwork three days prior and submit copies of our vaccines but really do I have bring a thermometer ??

The correct answer would be yes. It is true that many travelers do not. However in the event that you start to feel sick while you are there it would be helpful to have it. It won't take much room in your suitcase.
That is what EHAS is asking you to do. If you have a smartphone or laptop with you it literally takes less than a minute to answer their morning email.

Yes, you need to bring a thermometer and it is very a very simple process. In our case, every morning around 7:15, we received an email from the Health Ministry. Click on it, record your temperature, answer two questions...do you have flu like symptoms and one other that I do not recall and hit the submit button.

It is really easy and you can carry one incase you don't want to carry one just go in for this app Modern thermometer, it's available in the play store is a professional tool for measuring actual temperature. The app has built-in sensors and allows you to display accurate temperature in both Celsius or Fahrenheit.

Have a safe trip

Hi:

I reported temps for a few days. Didn't get a notice every day? On second last day I reported a temp that would indicate that I was dead. Didn't get a notice the last day, so I guess their system works.

Greenfields, that is funny! I’m am surprised that somebody from the health dept didn’t come around looking for you. LOL. See I don’t report, you report your dead, and still nothing happens, this is classic stuff.
