Villa on Bourgeaux Bay Beach

Villa on Bourgeaux Bay Beach - 08/26/2022 04:48 PM

Hello!

What does everyone think of Villa Faja Lobie in terms of location? It's on Bourgeaux Bay Beach.

Is it a good location for beach access to go swim?
What about location for restaurants or places to walk to?

Thank you!

I'm not familiar with that particular villa but familiar with Bourgeaux Bay. The sand kind of comes and goes there, but usually it is fairly rocky. As far as walking to any places to eat, etc., it would be a pretty long hot walk during the day, and not that safe after night.

Thank you for the reply @Carol_Hill. Is there another beach nearby that you would recommend we look at villas for where we can go swim on the beach and walk to restaurants?

I guess it really depends on what your criteria is. Does it have to be directly ON the beach, or just walking distance to the beach? And when you say "villas", if you mean a REAL stand-alone villa (as compared to a townhouse) any actual villas on the Dutch side, I'm struggling to think of real villas which are directly on a really good swimmable beach. Understand, you can get in the water on Burgeaux Bay, I didn't mean to suggest you cannot, but the sand does come and go there, so it may be difficult getting in the water. But walking to anywhere from there is going to be tough. On the French side, there are some on Baie Rouge, but they are pretty expensive. If a townhouse type situation will do, you can find lots of townhouses directly on Simpson Bay Beach. Depending on where they are on Simpson Bay, you can walk to several places from there. On the French side there are many villas in the Orient Bay area, both stand-alone villas and townhouse type villas, that are within walking distance from many restaurants. You will not find many that are directly ON the beach, even on Orient, but many will have a view of the beach, depending on how far up the hill you go.

I didn't look to see what the price is for the villa you are looking at, so not sure what your price point is. If you can refine your criteria for me, I might be able to suggest a specific area.

About $800-$1k per night for at least a 3 bedroom/3 bath w/a pool and ocean view as long as we can walk to the beach and go swim within a few minutes.

Summer or winter? That's a good budget for summer. In summer, you might check Baie Rouge, but you can't walk to anywhere from there. There are a bunch of condo-type villas along Simpson Bay, but not a lot of them are 3 BR. You might look at La Siesta on Simpson Bay. I think there are some 3 BR units there. There are a TON of villas all along Orient Bay also.

There is a 3 bedroom unit at Royal Palm. Might want to check availability for a non owner week.

Scuba--based on his price category, I don't really think Royal Palm is what he is looking for.

It's an option if nothing else is available or works.

Villla Vittoria is wonderful, more of a 5 to 6 bedroom and more like $1300 a night. But right on the beach and has a small pool on the front. However, beach vendors do hound people on more popular beaches in Simpson Bay area, and this is no exception. The pool is on the front of the house (not beach side) but does come in handy. We call the staircase the Beverly Hillbillies show staircase in that house.

Is there any beach vendors aren't hounding on. Orient is the worst and Mullet second.
