Park in the Sonesta covered multi-level parking garage. If you are driving through Maho towards the golf course at the very end of all the shops turn left on the road down to the entrance of the garage. Take a ticket and park and I don't think I've ever spent more than 5 bucks. It is what we do to go to Maho beach or Driftwood on a hot sunny day and your car is parked in the shade, that alone is worth paying money for.

Is there an attendant that you pay when you leave or do you need singles to pay a machine? Also, how safe do you feel in there? Would a single woman feel comfortable parking her car in there for example?

You can also park for free across from the underground parking near the pharmacy and clinic if there is space.

At the exit there is a security guard booth with a machine on the wall where you put your entrance ticket into and it displays how much you owe, put your money in the machine and take your ticket back. You have to get out of your car to do this. Then pull up to the gate put your ticket in that machine and the gate opens. Most of the time I pull up and just give the security guard my ticket and they put it in the machine for me and tell me how much I owe and give me my ticket back to open the gate. I'll tip a buck or two for that. The last time we used the garage in Dec the ticket machine was not working and the gate was up and they charged a flat rate of $2 to park.
As for feeling safe in there the answer is yes during the daytime for sure, we have not had a late night in Maho so don't know about that. I would ask the security guard about that. Also all the employees of Sonesta enter and exit by this security booth so there is traffic in this area. At night I would try to park close to the security booth.

I have parked there many times as a single and have never felt unsafe. I normally park on the third floor by the walkway to Jax/Sublime. If I were going across the street, I would park on the second level.

Linda--Agreed, I'd park as close as possible to one of the entrances out to Maho restaurants. I personally would feel OK there until 10:30-11:00 at night, but not really after that, unless I was with someone else. Not sure what time they close at Hole in the Wall. ANY time I am out after night on the street, I make sure that my purse (if I am even carrying one) is held up close to my body.
