Looks quite sketchy to me. I think it would have to be banked way more than it is to make that 90 degree turn!

It’s like a roller coaster ride and great fun. My mother, who was 86 at the time, did it while sitting in the co-pilot’s seat. When we landed she turned to the pilot and asked him if we could do it again.

Talk about coming in tight!!! I read somewhere that pilots need a special licenses to land in St. Barths.

It is quite difficult to land there and a special endorsement is indeed required. And not only does the pilot have to cross that roundabout with minimum energy to be able to drop down and land on the short runway, but there's really no go-around once you've committed to final as you fly over a funnel-like valley to get to that roundabout. If you really mess it up there's no options to divert. I got this short video once while everyone around me was diving for the dirt and I just didn't know better.

My husband says that's as tricky as most aircraft carrier landings except the foul weather at night ones.

Hands down, one of the most fun landings I've been in a plane for.

we know a guy that spends a bunch of time every year on SBH, does a lot of photography...a few years ago was on the roundabout above the airport taking pics and was actually struck in the head by an incoming plane's landing gear...got some stitches, but ultimately OK duh
