Overnight hotel in CLT? - 09/16/2023 09:06 PM

Have not been able to find workable itinerary from PVD to SXM on a Saturday. Might consider leaving Friday and overnight in CLT. Any recommended hotels in CLT?

We have used the Doubletree Charlotte airport a few times when flying to Sxm. Rooms have been clean, breakfast is what you would expect, and the free shuttle has always worked well. It’s about a ten minute ride to the airport.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn Charlotte-Airport and it was perfect. Loud as it was close but perfect location.

Guess it depends on when you are travelling. In January Delta, AA and United have one stop morning departures to SXM on Saturday. We usually do the little over one hour drive to BOS which is decent in the ealy AM on weekends and have a better and cheaper choice with JB n/s added to the mix.

Whatever works for you...

How much of Friday evening will you have in Charlotte? Since the flight the next morning doesn't leave terribly early, you might want to enjoy a nice dinner at the rooftop restaurant, Fahrenheit, in the same building as the Hyatt in Charlotte. Granted, you'll pay a bit more for the room, the meal, and the Uber from and to the airport, but you're on vacation!

Late flight lands at 9:50. Quick sleep and on our way. Thank you for suggestions. Last year around November AA posted a doable flight through MIA. I may wait for that. Present return flight through CLT also has problems. Pilot shortage probably has airlines planning short term.
