Dutch side happy hours?

Dutch side happy hours? - 11/05/2023 04:19 AM

Greetings TTOLers,

Soon, I will be spending my first Dutch Side vacay. Though I am familiar with Philipsburg during daylight hours, my experiences have always been random finds and being on travel time, never aimed for any bar/resto until I recognized a place through here.

Where are the best happy hours (thanks for the dry martini nudge, Fabila)? Please, no karaoke ("carry your own key" makes my ears bleed).

I hope this is a fun list for all.

In Maho there's the Driftwood Boat bar, The Hole in the Wall, and the Beer Garden

Dingy Dock Bar (the one on the marina in Simpson Bay not the beach) has happy hour 4-6pm daily, half off stuff I believe.

After years of getting really lousy straight up dry martinis we stopped ordering them. I took a chance at Roma and the bartender made it excellent I did miss the large green olives. The bartender responded that the market closed earlier so they were out of the big ones. he gave me six small olives.

Greenhouse and Yacht Club have good happy hours with discount led small bites. No Where Special I noticed 4-7 but it can loud and I have no personal experience going there but you hear it when you drive by. Roxxy has a happy hour another place playing music.

It is hard to beat the happy hour at the SMYC (Sint Maarten Yacht Club), especially for the 5PM last bridge opening. Lagoonies has a good happy and for those who really want cheap drinks, head over to $1 beers at the Soggy Dollar.

Wow! thanks everyone... keep your favourites coming. Adding the days/time is helpful if not the usual supper hour.

There's lots to experience from your suggestions...I'm absolutely adding these to my notes (esp 5pm SMYC as I will be sailing to st martin.)

Cheers!

Do most bars that have happy hours also have discounts on food?
