Late posting

Arrived from Charlotte last Monday 30 minutes early with high expectations. We finally cleared immigration two hours later. We watched multiple later arrivals go through while we stood there dripping. This was the most disorganized system I have ever been in. Things got better when we exited and saw Lesley smiling as we walked out. Traffic up to Orient,where we are staying,was awful. We met our villa manager,got all the pertinent info and finally relaxed. Before unpacking,we decided a drink was in order so we walked to Maison Mere for drinks,an appetizer and desert. All was very good and Mark,the bartender,made a great impression.
Tuesday started with coffee and pastries from good morning. Definitely feeling like we’re back on island. Breakfast was followed by massages in the villa by Fabienne.
We have used many masseuses over the years and Fabienne is near the top of the list. It wasn’t just her technique, it was her whole attitude.Tuesday night was a light dinner in,then drinks and dessert again at Maison Mere.

Totally agree with you regarding Fabienne....she is wonderful! Probably the best massage experience I've ever had. Glad to hear she is still doing what she loves to do.
Sorry to hear of the delay upon arrival....that is disheartening. Sadly, we've decided to move on from our visits to sxm until things change for the better. The crime, the traffic, the water issues at Orient, airport issues, not to mention the blighted area where Club O once was. We also witnessed a horrible scene of animal abuse at Great Bay that remains etched in our memory. We had some wonderful times on the island, but just decided to move on until we hear of some positive changes and improvements on the island.

Sorry your arrival was not good. Hopefully things have been better since then, since today is Sunday!

We completely agree with the points you raised compounded with the costly and unreliable airfare. We are hopeful for positive changes so we can return too.
