I have had no issues driving thru Sandy Ground in the daytime, other than fretting about the safety of the cyclists...

No problems as well driving through Sandy Ground and remember two years ago when we rented in the low lands and had to drive through almost every night to get to Gran Case, we were pleasantly surprised that no one hanging out on the streets.
Yes there were a few cyclists showing off.
I think the police presence every night just before Marigot certainly helped
