Unusual story. Glad the officer received a gift. One good thing out of a bad situation.

Very good gesture by the gentleman , but the Officer will probably only do some work repair on the boat and then put it up for sale because he won't babel to afford the general upkeep of the boat . Good for him and his bank account savings.

Cool story. Buy weather you spell it as Yacht or Boat, it still spells out Bust Out Another Thousand!!! LOL!!!

The sailing community tells of him arriving from a solo passage, tired, and anchored close to shore but didn't take the waves and wind change into consideration. The salvage costs will exceed the value of the uninsured boat so giving it away was the best option.
