Debris from a launch, likely SpaceX, washed up on Flamands Beach on St Barth a few months ago.

Pardon my ignorance... but during my end of dec flight, we flew over a launch in florida.... the pilot announced it to very little fanfare.
I have no idea where or what.... any insight?
ps nothing shows up on their website for dec 30 2023.. or therabouts.

Have no idea about the one in December, but the most recent one was to deploy some satellites. We are more tuned into them because they leave from Florida, but I was just surprised that it was visible in SXM. Pictures looked like some kind of UFO.

And if you are on island now another launch tonight (Wednesday) from Florida that will be visible again just after 7pm from SXM. I think you need to look to the North,

Another great opportunity to view the Falcon 9 rocket from the Caribbean TONIGHT!
SpaceX will launch its Falcon 9 rocket with 23 "Starlink" satellites on Wednesday, March 13. Takeoff is scheduled for 7:29 p.m. (Little Antilles Time).
As we've noticed before, when these launches are done right after night, they tend to be more attractive.
After the launch, between 7 and 9 minutes later, Caribbean Islanders will be able to see the rocket with the naked eye if looked northwest.
⏰ Start time: 7:29pm
👀 Where to look? North West
🤷 ♂ What time to watch? : 7:36 pm to 7:38 pm

Scubaman, just checking are you sure of the time? Island time is the same as Florida time now.

Re: SpaceX visible on island - 03/14/2024 12:34 PM
Well we sat on our balcony last night from 6:30pm until 10pm waiting for the launch, but to no avail. It was scrubbed around 9:40pm. I had a live cam feed of the launch pad from YouTube and my camera ready and a cold beer at hand. Then a "Failure to Launch" situation was before us.
So we went to bed.
It is now scheduled to launch tonight March 14 at 7:04pm.
