bran--Are you are on island? If so, check with a pharmacy on island. They should be able to help you. If you are at home, just buy one..

I( was looking for a walker in February. I found Alpha store no longer open. Business run out, of house in Madame Estate. $10/day rental. At that price cheaper to buy. Since I was there for 7 weeks it was cost effective to have one shipped to SXM. Amazon to Four Star Cargo in Miami. They ship to SXM and carrier will deliver if asked. You also get model you want. I got folding one. Order extra feet as SXM gravel wears out originals fast. Cost was reasonable. Have Amazon order sent to you at SXM address. If only there for 1 or 2 weeks, pharmacy might be best choice. Google was not much help.

Bluesfan--thanks for the info. I thought that the Alpha store was no longer in business, but wasn't sure.

Thx all. Not on Island. Have a collapsible wheelchair(well without those large side wheels) as I push the person concerned and that some airlines allow to be taken actually on board,(so have it all the time) but I was more referring to an actual walker that the wife can use herself when needed at the Villa. Can't take both with me......

Yes, will ask the Pharmas when there, but thought this is not such a strange request, as there may be one outfit that caters for this, failing this, will ask the people/concierge dept we normally book with but thx for the info. Trying to make it late June for two weeks with albeit slight(more than slight trepidation) as those sidewalks not exactly set up for a wheelchair, particularly in Grand Case from what I remember. But no point in moaning about it before it actually happens, even though reading here how stressful travel can be in getting to SXM(and out of the airport) just best to get on with it and once there make the most of it all as best one can.

bran--Sorry, why CAN'T you take both?? Just pay to check it?? Alpha Medical Services used to do that type of thing but apparently no more. And I would think that your concierge should be able to take care of the situation.

And as far as the airport, if you have wheelchair assist, apparently it's not a big deal.
