If you like craft beer on draft, this is a good option. Food is not bad either. It's bar food so nothing fancy, but we liked everything we had. Wings (plain with buffalo sauce on the side), nachos, garbage salad and fried chicken sammich were all quite good. But the beer options are the main draw. Nice to have this available in the Simpson Bay area.

I might add, a really great place to watch live sporting events as well.

We try to go at least twice a trip. Still honor Pour Your own Drinks at happy Hour. Loaded Nachos are a meal in itself. And the Quality Craft Draft Beer is a Plus.

Another thumbs-up from us.
We went there just about every night of our trip. Great location and the very best half-price happy hour we found. ALL drinks 50% off ( which made their maragitas with fresh lime seriously appealing ) and a good HH food menu. In fact what we did is drink through the happy hour and get a half-price bottle of wine to go with our food near the end of it. We liked the staff although the owner can be a little overwhelming in a New York sort of way.
Great craft beer selection. The cold Left Hand Brewing Milk Stout was sublime.
There's also a very good casual Korean BBQ place right next door.
In a way we felt the place benefited from not being on the beach so had to up their game to get the punters in. And lots of folks pulled right up in their ribs at the dock.

Do you know the name of the Korean restaurant and if they serve banchan?

Oppa Korean BBQ.
Yes they do.
Nothing fancy but great food.

"We liked the staff although the owner can be a little overwhelming in a New York sort of way."
That's putting it lightly.

Off topic, but I love your Andy Capp profile pic!!

Nobby--laugh I missed that in your original post. The English do tend to be polite. grin I've never been to Dinghy Dock, as several people have expressed a dislike for the owner, so I figured I didn't miss much. I don't drink beer anyway, so I guess I'm all right. .

Dinghy Dock is our go to place as soon as we’re on the Island. Excellent ribs with rice and beans plus a salad. Basically pub food and never had a problem. Great rum punches too.

Seth, the owner, is an acquired taste. But I find that he responds to kindness. And since that is my nature, we get along very well.

I agree that Seth may be an acquired taste. Like you, CaribLee, I get along with him just fine. We love the Dinghy Dock. It is a regular haunt for us on hour annual trip.

I would agree with that.

Over the years any have posted re: Owners Attitude at times. I find it less offensive than the swarms of New Yorkers in Aruba 🥲

This type of post always cracks me up. So many loved Andy of Andy and Cheryl’s. I was only there twice and both times I found him very abusive. Seth is Seth. Not abusive, maybe abrupt and a wise guy at times. Has a good heart and does awesome things for the animals on the island. I find it sort of like the old Durgin Park in Boston or Crabby Dicks. Enjoy going to DD. Fun staff as well.

I never got the attraction to Baywatch/Andy either.

First met Seth when at Cupecoy and he was taking his dog each morning that had some health issues for a swim that would help the dog, that extra effort says a lot about him in my world. I have no issues with him and we stop there every trip even if only for drinks. He is still there, that says a lot as well.

I know people also had issues with Andy of Baywatch, we got along well and I found him very entertaining and he made some great food. When staying on Orient one of my favorite memories were the times going there before they opened officially and sitting and drinking coffee with the small group that would show up. Andy would take short breaks and sit with us and stories would be told. I don't recall paying for coffee, often would also have a great breakfast after they opened. While Andy got demanding of the staff at times, I have seen similar from other owners like Bruno, it was mostly because of an expectation that was not being met. Cheryl softened the place up, and back when they were open and we spent more time on Orient the welcome kiss from Cheryl was that moment I was really on island. It was great running into her over the years still on island, we ran into each other at Naruto on her last night on island. I hope she is doing well, as well as Adrian who took good care of us and the rest of the staff. Great times there, fun to look back.

Oh dear, I hope I haven't traduced Seth's reputation too much.
When I wrote he could be a little overwhelming in a New York sort of way it wasn't meant maliciously. He's just a little fond of the sound of his own voice and broadcasting his opinions across the bar. He's probably not even aware he's doing it.
It certainly wasn't enough to put me off the bar which is well run and right up there with my favourite holiday drinking holes.
And I repeat, the happy hour was the best we found. Not like a buck or two off beer but half-price every drink and the margaritas were well made and potent.
