SCUBADU TRIP REPORT
FEB 7, 2004
We just returned from St.John on Sunday and are battling the snow:-( Our last day we Chartered a Catamaran "SCUBADU" 40X25FT. WOW, WHAT A DAY !!!! We booked it for just the two of us since it was our last day we thought what the heck, lets splurge, that’s what vacation is for anyway. When they picked us up at the National Park Dock, I almost passed out when I saw it approaching. Big, White, New, Clean, and all ours for the day :-) We boarded the Cat to meet two of the nicest people of our trip. Captain Joe and first mate Holly. Because we already snorkeled the area around St. John we asked Joe to head Straight for Jost Van Dyke, BVI. The day was perfect. We sat up on the trampolines in the front of the boat, two very large ones. What Fun. As we got out into the Ocean further the waves were splashing us and we were able to keep cool. I highly recommend doing this. There is plenty of deck space and a shaded [censored] pit When we got to Jost, we headed to Foxy's first for some new 2004 gear. Joe and Holly checked us in with Customs while we headed in. They are very friendly people and we felt like we had known them forever. I new we were in for the best day ever. We Then headed over to White Bay. We hung out swimming in and out from the beach and the Soggy Dollar Bar. Joe and Holly had many good Adult Beverages on board including a very Yummy Fresh Rum Punch and cold Carib. Joe grilled up some Fresh Tuna and Wahoo on his grill and prepared the best caesar salad I have ever had. He asked us what we wanted for lunch, you can pick your own menu if you want to. He also made fresh warm homemade cookies for my hubby after I told them he loves his cookies, nice touch. The cat also makes for a very smooth sail due to the size of it. Joe let us check out the entire boat. 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, Very Clean and very spacious. We have decided to book SCUBADU for a week next year. The cabins are spacious and each have a large skylight to view the stars at night or the pretty sky during the day. The bathrooms are a nice size for a boat also. The kitchen area is wide open and very modern and nice. I can't rave about this enough and I have been on many Cats. The stairs off both sides of the back of the boat make for easy access to the water. It even had warm water showers when you come back aboard to rinse off the salt water if you choose. It was very hard for us to get off the boat that day. We made two new friends and can't wait to be able to hang out on SCUBADU for a whole week next year. I have some picks from our trip that I will be uploading this weekend. I will try to post them along with a full trip report. If you would like me to email you some PICS to your personal email, let me know. Here is his email. " svscubadu@hotmail.com " and his
cell phone# 1-340-643-5155 The cost for the day was worth every single cent. Just think we almost took the ferry. Our memories are good for a year or more and the stories from that day are being told to everyone we know. We have Gushed daily about this one Day. Having the boat to yourself is a must at least once. I think he takes up to 6 people at a time, You will need to check on that. Let me know about the picks. Sorry for the long email, I just could not stop myself. Judy. Here are a few web sites
