Here you go!
Sleepychef, your up! I'm running out of photos. lol
I know the feeling my last one was Cow Wreck .
Great Harbor near Foxy"s?
Fran you are up! Right in front of Foxy's
Oh heck, got to find a photo.
This might be easy for the pilots out there.
For no reason, other than I ust watched The Affair, I'm going Montauk NY. Truly a wild guess.
I've flown into a few Caribbean airports, but not sure about this one (or even if this in the Caribbean). St. Vincent?
I think it is Castries, St Lucia.
Mike, you are absolutely correct, St Lucia. You're up. My next photo clue would have been this...
Sorry for the delay, I forgot I'd had a guess. Limited with photos so here's a couple from a lunch stop last week...

Further South than Oropesa. I don't think anyone will have been here so all feel free to use google maps to home in.
Too far south. If you head out past the island in the photo the next place you'll come to is Ibiza.
Bed time for me so no more clues or an answer until tomorrow.
It is indeed Fred. On the Cap de la Nau which is the nearest point of mainland Spain to the Balearic Islands. From the top you can see Ibiza which is about 50 miles away. Very nice.
Your turn.
Mike, thanks to the magic of Google and it looks like a very nice place. Here is one not quite as far off the beaten path.
Dang Beerman, that was quick. You are correct and you're up.
I've never been to Monaco, and that's what I thought also.

I'm sure Beerman will have much better pictures than I anyway!
Visited Monaco on our last trip abroad! Where were we in this pic..........
Were you in the Provence?
Not French Provence. This area is certainly known for it's landscapes...
Yes Tuscany!...but that's a huge region...I should have put a town pic first to make it more challenging...bonus point for naming this wine town near those landscapes, to take the pics we stopped on the side of the road heading to another nearby town known for Pecorino cheese!
Montalcino, where Brunello is made?
Montepulciano? Now I'm just guessing.
Swifty you are correct! Also Carol you had the region! Exact location of pics was Val d'Orcia. It was perhaps my favorite day of that trip!
Swifty--if you have a pic, go ahead!
Thanks Carol! It's getting harder and harder to find photos, but I'll give it a try. Where am I?
Ha! Yes, it's probably named Palm Beach, but do you know where?
West Palm, corner of 1st and Idunno street?
St Lucia is closer to West Palm, FL!
Yes! But there are a lot of islands in that chain. Any idea where?
Mayreau looking towards Union?
Slightly southeast of there. But so close you can sail there in a few hours.
One more hint and then I'll be offline for a couple of hours. It is Union Island in the background. Just not from Mayreau.
Palm Island (just down from Mopion)?
Even closer. The island we're on is technically in a different country but you don't "have" to clear customs.
OK, a change of venue with this one
Somewhere in Bella Italia ... Genoa?
Somewhere, but not Genoa.
Zanshin had the right country, but the wrong part. Maybe this will help.
Getting late in the evening for some players, so here is another picture
A couple of photos back there is a sign saying 'Boat Trip' in English so guessing it might be a cruise ship port. So... Civitavecchia (Spelling?)
Sleepychef, you got it. I'm curious, what was the clue you recognized or did I leave a sign in one of the pictures that said "Syracusa"? You are up.
it was the ear, I do like mythology
anyone can post a picture as I won't until tomorrow so anybody who wants to?
I'll post one, the first of a series where each one is more recognizable as I'd be amazed if someone could guess this location from this picture alone:
And another clue
This is somewhat further south than the Shetland Islands
How about somewhere on the southern coast of Portugal?
Nobody is within 100 Miles of this location yet...
There is just one building visible from where I took these pictures...
No, not Saba - but the waters here are warmer than in the Hebrides...
Maybe the warm water is the Gulf Stream and some where like P.E.I ?
This location is part of a kingdom
Interesting confirmation and I always liked "Help Me Rhonda" by the Beach Boys. Here's another picture.
Any guesses from these?

OK, cal me an idiot but, where the heck is Rhonda? I can't even find it on Google maps.
As for the photos, Bahamas?
Fran, turns out I spelled it incorrectly as it is Redonda (Kingdom of) about 10 -12 miles NW of Montserrat. Not the Bahamas or Dominica
OK, got it. Man that is a lonely piece of rock.
OK, here is the answer (or at least clue)
Fred - you were wrong, the location is "Redonda", not "Rhonda" - but I'll let you slide
Yes, I confessed that earlier, but I had already posted a picture. I
owe you one.
I missed the correction you had posted, it was on the previous page and all I saw was this page. No worries, you were close enough to getting the right name and you'd correctly identified where the island is. I've sailed past that barren rock a couple of times and each time the seas were just a bit too much for me to anchor on the leeward side and climb up the path to the top.
An interesting side note, the red buoy began life in eastern Canada, ran away from home and hitched rides on currents before ending up here. I learned that from George Jeffrey (pictured here and also on the cover of the 2014/15 Cruising Guide to the Leeward Islands).
Offhand I can only think of two islands that are that flat in the Leewards - Anegada and Barbuda. I have been to Anegada many times and haven't seen a red buoy like that one so I'm going to guess Barbuda.
Zanshin, you are correct with Barbuda and you are up.
That was a lucky guess - because of my boat's deep draft I've never gone there but it is on my list of places to visit.
Going from flat to hilly... Where is this?
I would say that this is the side of the volcano in Montserrat. That appears to be sulfur deposits along with volcanic ash.
That was much faster than I expected. The next picture was to have been this one, which probably would have made guessing the location a lot easier. All yours, XSMFOX
Ok, so where am I? One small hint, the kids use to dive in the water to collect the coins that the tourists would threw in.
Good guess Fran but farther east. I guess I didn’t think about it, but kids to the same thing there also, lol. I will say that this picture was taken back in 95, so it might look a bit different now.
One of my other thoughts was Martinique?
Fred your in the general area.
Im afraid not carol. Y’all are in the general are. Ill give another picture
One more clue. This place use to have a rather large soap factory that use to spill their waste by product directly into the ocean. Now that should help help
Come on y’all, this can’t be that difficult. Fred was the closest, so another clue. Just remember these photos are from 1995. Carol when someone gets it right, you slap your forehead and say “I knew that”, LOL. LOOK CLOSE, kids in the water collecting coins tossed in the water by tourists. We’ve all seen this.
Be back in awhile, trying to keep up with Capt. Rick Moore down in San Andr’es going through another cat 5 hurricane, stronger than Irma.
Sorry to jphart, but no. A little farther north than that. Remember this picture was from 1995, things have changed, sorry about that. Look at the clues, many about. Going to bed now, I can’t believe this has lasted this long.
I guess I'll try Dominica. Sooner or later we'll eliminate enough islands.
Fran got it! Your right Fran, sooner or later! It looks a lot different theses days. Your up
Fox--I actually didn't know that, at all. We only have been to Dominica once and I don't remember the kids diving for coins then.
We’ve been several times, and on each occasion the kids were always there, and they would make their presents known by yelling. It was hard to sit out on the balcony and drink coffee, and if you ever started throwing coins, watch out! It was fun though. This is the old dock, where the ship would pull along side the dock as if it were going straight into the island.
The only places I remember kids doing that was in Puerto Plata and in Cozumel. Very dangerous practice..
Yes I totally agree, very dangerous
OK, where am I?
I haven't been to that beach, but the island in the picture is most likely Île Tintamarre, so this picture was taken on St. Martin, FWI
That was quick. It is St Martin, Orient Beach. I thought Carol would get this one. You're up again.
I actually had a picture series taken on Tintamarre that I wanted to use; but now I have to choose something different...
Here goes, where is this:
Fran--I didn't see it until Zanshin had already gotten it. Definitely St. Martin. I believe actually the picture was probably taken at the beach for Esmeralda, based on the seat cushion color, but I could be wrong.
I'll add a clue already, since I neglected to post it with the original picture above. This (closed) location supplied a raw material to the (closed) location above. What town are we in?
Carol, Can't say for sure if you are right or wrong. When we went there the sign said Orient Beach but I guess the beach has different sections too.
Greater Pittsburgh? Maybe more like East Pittsburgh?
Fran--yes, definitely different restaurants and sections along Orient.
Either I lost a day or the time marker for posts is off. I know I answered you today Carol, not yesterday.
I think if this was in the USA, it would be covered in graffiti so I'm guessing somewhere in Germany like Dresden. It looks like some kind of coal gasification plant or maybe coal to diesel?
Granville Island before the artists moved in
Ok - based on Fred's note above, I'm going to go with Landshlaftpark in Germany. I was going to try that earlier but it seemed like a long shot.
Oak Ridge? If I'm right, someone else post a photo please.
So far nobody has it.
Swifty - "Landschaftspark" just means a nature park in German. But you are closest so far.
Here is the next site (also closed) and the canal which fed raw materials to the second picture which transformed it to a raw material for the first picture:

We have a winner! My last picture was going to be of soccer fans walking downtown with their distinctive yellow-and-black colors, but that wasn't necessary.
The mine was for coal, the middle picture was of a factory that converted coal to coke and the final picture was of a steel works.
All yours, xrayman67!
Here you go!
Oh funny - I thought that was the actual name of the park we went to near Essen!
Is this a sugar cane factory?
Is this a sugar cane factory?
It was when I took the photo. It closed 2 months later.
Is it on PR 2 between Aguadilla and Mayaguez
Central Azucarera Coloso
Not Puerto Rico. This island is smaller.
I'll take a guess with St. Kitts?
Well you have spent a lot of time in Hawaii so maybe the big island - Hawaii?
Well you have spent a lot of time in Hawaii so maybe the big island - Hawaii?
Very close Fred! A little further west.
I don't know the geography of Hawaii that well but Maui is a possibility.
Maui it is! This sugar mill closed 2 months later. It was the last sugar mill in Hawaii. Fred is up!
Here is one far from Hawaii
A shot in the dark, someplace not too far from you although I would expect to see more houseboats than sailboats, Norris Lake?
Wow Sleepychef, I thought that one might last awhile before I posted this one which I was sure you would nail. You are up.
I used to work out of there via that dock in your last picture on the Hebridean Princess
Looked at the website for Hebridean Princess. Pretty cool looking!
For not much of a reason, I'll try Cairo?
Vegas it is! your up xrayman87
Yes Carol the Hebridean Princess is the boat the Queen holidays on a week or 2 every year. Most guests use it as a country club sailing 3 or 4 times a year,
Here's the next photo!
Looks like some US city spread out over a large area in a basin - Phoenix?
sleepychef--wow, that's cool! Was she onboard when you worked on the boat?
Looks like some US city spread out over a large area in a basin - Phoenix?
Not Phoenix, but the US is correct. Go east.
sleepychef--Cool, thanks.
Sorry, end of thread drift!!
Another photo clue.
I was about to guess that also Carol! Sure does look like it
Carol, you a correct! This is Miami. Carol is up!
Oh crap! Have to find a picture!

I'll see what I can find.
OK, here it is..
Don't recognise it so I'll go for the obvious... St Martin/SintMaarten?
Nope. Jeannius was closer.
I do recognise it now, I think, Carol. St Barts.
Nope, not St. Barts. Your first guess was close, just not exactly correct.
I'm out for the time being as I think I'd need google to get the name of the small island that is part of St Martin but has it's own name.
I figure Zanshin will probably pop in any time with the correct answer....
Now I know for sure I posted that last response earlier tonight but the timer says I posted it yesterday at 10:27 PM. Somethings wacky here.
Fran--your time settings are off.
Fran--not Anguilla. Jeannius is on the right track, separate island, technically part of St. Martin.
I know where this is Carol! I’ll give some more time to maybe let others answer
And I must say, it’s at such a good angle, that it is very deceptive! Good job!
Fox--anyone that knows St. Martin well will know it, but I thought it was a good picture..
I just looked at the thread and saw the picture. I've wanted to go to this beach, but couldn't due to my boat's draft and I didn't want to take the ferry with the hoi polloi
Tintamarre is the little island I've been to so I'm guessing it is there?
Fran--your time settings are off.
Carol, I checked my computer time settings, they are correct. The post clock says one time for the initial post and then on the next post it was completely different. This morning it seems to have corrected itself somehow. I know I'm not the only one seeing this but oh well, not a world shaking crisis.
Jeannius--no, not Tintamarre. There is nothing in the way of restaurants on Tintamarre. I am going to say that 18 hours have passed, so google away, everyone!
Fran--well, glad it seems to have resolved itself this morning.
OK, let's try this...
Kind of resembles Isla Mujeres?
Kind of but no, not Isla Mujeres.
No, not Playa but you're a little closer than Fred was. Keep going south. Another look.
No Tulum, but getting closer, still south. Hint: this used to be a sleepy little fishing village. The first time we went there the main 'street' was hard packed sand with large, ship mooring lines for speed bumps, now it's concrete.
Nothing much further south...Costa Maya expanded as a cruise stop when Carnival Corp built a pier
Costa Maya is the cruise ship stop, this village is about a mile or so further down and existed before the cruise ship pier. I'll give it to JP for Costa Maya but the village is actually Mahahual. You're up JP
