Hopefully, this will be recognized by a few players here - I don't mean yours truly but the thing in the background.
Fran, you are correct and one of the players I thought would recognize this bridge connecting Tampa and St. Petersburg.
You are up!
That fella in the foreground distracted me for a moment but I got past it.

Anyone with a photo please feel free to post. Kim, Tom?
Fran--I recognized it straight away also, but I don't have a picture either.
Carol, you and Fran were my prime suspects in identifying this structure. Now if someone with a picture to post will oblige.
Fred--you know, I HATE that bridge!!

Ever since I was a little girl, my mom installed in me a deep fear of high bridges, and that one is the one that I most often have had to deal with!!
Ok ..I will play along again for a bit
Based on one of the words - Spain? (and thanks for posting)
Opps didn’t notice the obvious clue...yes I am back in Spain...any guesses where ?
No idea of the town, but the pictures are beautiful!!!
Can't get anything from the pictures but guessing southern Spain, presumably not Ronda as we've had that a few times, so... Mijas?
Mijas is correct !!! City of blue pots

Pure guess. Didn't expect to win that. Now I've got to find a picture!
Try this one...
A few clues indicate France? I thought you had a lot of pictures once you returned to the UK? Anyway, nice to see people walking around sans masks!
I have got quite a few Fred but I've lost track of which locations I've already used! Yes it is France.
Saint-Raphäel, France outside of Fréjus?
Wrong coast Zanshin.

Hanfleur? That is the only town I know near Normandy Beaches. If correct, I have no pics to share as mine are almost all BVI.
Honfleur is the answer. Beautiful town with this magnificent bridge across the River Seine...
Pont de Normandie
Hanfleur? That is the only town I know near Normandy Beaches. If correct, I have no pics to share as mine are almost all BVI.
If you wish I can share some more
Kim, please do and thanks. Some of us have been playing this for months and are totally, or practically, out of pictures.
Will do ...this visit was magical
I'm afraid I don't know about the latest photo. But if I can back up one destination, that Pont de Normandie does look beautiful from the photos. It seems that cable-stayed designs have become very popular for their aesthetics, and are used for many new bridges including three here in the NYC area. But that one looks particularly impressive.
Dan
Here are a few more from the same place

Ok not sure if folks are bored or just aren't sure where this is .... so a few more pics

I personally don't have a clue where it is. Pretty pictures though!
Not bored, and believe I have seen those windmills posted somewhere before on TTOL and I think it was at this game. Problem with getting old - CRS.
Ok ... will give more clues later on .. i am sure someone must know of this magical place
Not very well up on the names of Greek islands so, once again, a guess... Mykonos?
Great pics Kim. Can’t wait for the green light to travel!
I wasn't bored either, like Carol I hadn't a clue where it was.
Great pics Kim. Can’t wait for the green light to travel!
I know !! I just want to get on a plane to somewhere...anywhere .
To make matters worse all of my Facebook memories this week are from BVI trips for the past 10 years ..this is the first year in the past several decades that we were home for the entire Canadian winter ...which can be brutal at times
We have a boat but it is covered with snow and we are dreaming of the day we can sit on a lawn chair on an actual lawn

The only other Greek Island I could think of was Kefalonia and I knew it wasn't there. Next one...
Looks like typical German posts for the wine, and typical German houses on the hill and an old Roman lookout tower, perhaps from the "Limes". At first I thought it might be along the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer rivers, but the Limes would put it further east along either the Rhine or Main. Am I close or very far off?
Not far Arnd but not Germany. The next pictures are the river below the hill in the first picture and and then in the heart of the village which has the name of a well known wine...

That gave it away (I think). The river must the Loire and the town/wine Sancerre?
Correct. The river photo is actually a few miles away at Pouilly sur Loire, home of another fine wine. I left with a case or two of each
Ah, I'm sipping a nice Franken wine right now - but my next picture is not from a wine-growing region. The tree is a ficus (fig) tree, not known for growing in central European regions.:
Looks like it could possibly be the Hemmingway home in Key West.
It is associated with a personage of note in the USA, but not Hemingway and not in Florida.
If it is the USA I don't know where would support plants like the ones shown. The stone in the building looks like the kind of stuff used in places like St Kitts.
He didn't say it was IN the US, just associated with someone from the US...
Mike, those plants are quite common in FL. I had many of them in my yard when I lived there. However he did say it wasn't in FL. You might find them in southern CA or Hawaii as well but I don't know. It does resemble buildings in St Kitts.
So Nevis maybe and person of note but it doesn’t look like Alexander Hamilton’s house.
It is Nevis, that picture was of the Plantation Hotel, across the way from the Botanical Gardens and A. Hamilton's house - which were to be the next in the series. Fred has it.
I knew it wasn't Hamilton's house, but the vegetation looked like some I recall seeing at a higher elevation. This next picture is definitely from an obscure location, but I know of one person who has possibly seen this.
Oh my ...very obscure for sure !! I have no idea where or what that is.
Me either, although it does remind me of a place by the interstate around here that this guy buried a half dozen Airstream trailers on end, sticking straight up in a row. Bizarre!!
I doubt this will help much, but when one has to scrounge for pictures. OK, I found another with some good clues regarding geographic region

I'm going to guess Hawaii..
Carol, I figured that guess was coming from someone - that's what I would have guessed. However, right ocean but wrong hemisphere.
Shot in the dark for sure, since the sign and headstone are in English, prices in US dollar and in the Pacific but not Hawaii, American Samoa?
That first image was immediately recognizable for what it represents - a belief that can be abbreviated as "cc"?
But I've not been to those islands so can't narrow it down further without resorting to mystical google-fu arts.
Fran not Samoa. Zanshin, what is "cc" abbreviation? I'll let the Google dog loose soon.
Fred - I was referring to the "Cargo Cult" but I believe that the sculpture in the initial post is too big and complex for that.
OK, folks go ahead and use Google to identify this place. Thanks Zanshin, I hadn't heard of cargo cult before.
Not that I have a photo but...Niue Island? Only a couple of hundred miles or so from Samoa.
Fran, Niue is correct and those $ signs were NZ dollars. I thought Jeannius (Mike) might guess this one.
Fran, you are up.
Fran, Niue is correct and those $ signs were NZ dollars. I thought Jeannius (Mike) might guess this one.
Fran, you are up.
I didn't recognise the 'sculpture' Fred. Must have arrived since I was there. Then I had to google the beach name so ruled myself out of answering. Did they still have the same dinghy-landing system when you were there...
Mike, they still used the haul out dinghy system. I thought I had a picture, but can't find it.
Kim, Tom, or anyone else, post please.
Ok
Taking you to a different part of the world
ok... don't mind if I do.........
Rut ro..
Kiteboarding at north shore of Anegada, and the Moravian church in Coral Bay, St John.
I'll guess Kim's picture is her trip to the Seychelles?
Oh darn it ! Sorry Rick .. i will await my turn for now and can post again another time .. maybe you can remove my post Carol and i can play next time ?
Kiteboarding at north shore of Anegada, and the Moravian church in Coral Bay, St John.
Not Anegada or Seychelles, but an equally cool place
ooops ha!! sorry Kim you were first...I posted and then didn't log back in last night. BaardJ correct on mine, Moravian Church STJ.
Ok i will continue ...
a few more from the same place

A few more clues

Kim, one of your pictures had your flag displayed and one boat had a registration of PE etc. You should get ready to post another picture because the next one I post will go quickly.
Wow you are good at this game ! I was never one for details
Kim, finding small clues makes it fun for me and I guess others. You might want to use the MS Paint feature to obscure details like flags, license plates, etc. Thanks for continuing to post your pictures.
TravelHat, you are correct and you are up. Actually took longer than I thought.
I will throw an easy one out too.
Winner. The Tip Top Tap was a Speakeasy. The story is they would shut down the elevators when the raid came and by the time the feds climbed the stairs to the roof, everyone and the booze was gone.
So Fred is a picture whip....sorry ...
Sorry if I offended anyone
Kim, no offense and thanks for posting the picture so I don't have to find one.
No problem... anyone have a guess?
All I can guess is that it doesn't look tropical? How about another picture?
Big tidal range. Probably Canada somewhere.
Right Country
I'm thinking Possibly Newfoundland or PEI?
Good guess but wrong coast
A few more pics then will give some clues

Hey, you've painted out some clues. Speaking of clues, I don't have one but I'll guess New Brunswick?
Right province ...

will give more clues in the morning as to where ....a small clue ......we took a ferry to get there .
A couple of those shots look like Peggy's Cove.
It is very tidal ( highest in the world ) and fog is very common
Ok, highest tide is Bay of Fundy but what town/village this is I have no idea. Possibly Campobello (sp?).
Getting very close Fran ! We actually went to Campobello on that same trip ... keep guessing ..
this is the ferry we took .. we were very lucky it was flat calm that day

I have a friend that lives in New Minas NS and she is a photographer as well. Maybe that's why so many of your great shots look so familiar. She also used to be on TTOL but haven't seen her post in ages, actually, I haven't heard from her in ages.
Anyway, you've got me at this point without Google.
I will wait until tonight then give the green light for google .. maybe someone out there may know
Your pictures are as good as any taken by pros. By the way, my friend is not a pro but an amateur photog also.
Ok one last clue ....we had a very “ grand” visit to this special little island off the south coast of my province .....
If not guessed this evening google away and let’s put this one to bed ...
It’s a beautiful part of the world
Kim, your pictures are very, very good. I seem to find a power line or some such obstruction to be in the foreground of mine. Next, even using Google, I would have picked the wrong island. I guess since you have disclosed the location, you get to go again.
I kinda feel like I am monopolizing the game so I will let others post for a bit....will come back soon
Kim, keep them coming. You're not monopolizing and many of us are either out or very short on photos so...By the way, that island was my next choice after using Google.
Ok sounds good ....will take you somewhere a bit more familiar ....
Just a wild guess to narrow this down, somewhere on the Iberian Peninsula?
Nope sorry .... another one
The white buildings look like Santorini
Beautiful pics! Have to find a picture.
The next photo.
Long shot but...Steel Point?
Long shot but...Steel Point?
Fran, you're not too far off.
I know exactly where it is, but don't know the name of it; how frustrating!
Arnd, I'll accept the location without the exact name of the point. But the name is something you walk on.
It is the southwest most point of St. John. I see it to my right when I sail (or take the ferry from the BVI) past "Current Rock" heading towards Charlotte Amalie
It is the southwest most point of St. John. I see it to my right when I sail (or take the ferry from the BVI) past "Current Rock" heading towards Charlotte Amalie
Arnd, you're half right! Not St. John, but the rest of your description is correct.
Yes. Deck Point, St. Thomas.
Where is this beach?
This picture is taken from another beach close by. The beach in the initial picture is located just past the hilltop marked by the mast of the trimaran at the dock in this picture.
Just a wild guess, Grenada.
The clues I see (i.e. fence and sign) look like one of those private islands in the BVI, but the beach is open to the public. Guana?
The island that these two beaches are on is not part of Grenada and not on Guana Island. Both beaches are open to the public. The latter beach is tougher to get to, though - a long 500m walk from the road on a rocky dirt path; despite that, it is usually pretty crowded. I'll wait a bit before posting the next beach picture (also a panorama from a non-standard angle) and if that doesn't prompt a response I've got a final shot that will certainly trigger memories.
I don't know the beach in the first pic? I recognized the gated dock...is this a pic looking at it?
Yep. Beerman has it. By the way, those moorings are tough to pick up, there's little slack and I my freeboard forward is so high that I can't pull up the mooring far enough to get a line through it! And doing it singlehanded is even tougher; I wish they hadn't put those in a couple of years back, it was my favorite anchorage. Now I will usually anchor there, but the no-anchor zone stops at 50-70 feet water depth and it isn't usually very calm out that far.
I'll throw in the last picture, because as a panorama it distorts what would usually be easily recognizable as Plage de Pompierre.
The first beach is at Anse Crawen and the second is "Sugarloaf" (Pain de Sucre). All are on Terre-de-Haut in the Iles-des-Saintes off Guadeloupe, FWI.
My daughter is traveling...might be breaking a "rule" using her pics, but these were sent to me this morning.......

Isn’t James Rockford’s trailer down there somewhere? Lol.
I liked Rockford Files!!! but I think his trailer was in Malibu..........
I did too!! Cool show!! Probably out there in re-runs somewhere!
My first guess, looking at the pic, was Mexico. ...somewhere...
Not Mexico. Here are two pics from a State Park around the corner from town....

I have no idea where this is but it sure is gorgeous! Your girl has your love and skill with photography
Thanks Kim, she does love photography...and travel!! I'll give a hint to narrow it down a bit, Jim Rockford might have visited here if he drove about 5 hours in his gold Firebird!
If it's not Mexico, it's got to be the US, doesn't it?
Lol we are watching Rockford Files now. They were just their, where is the dead body in the surf? Lol
I was thinking Northern CA, now I'm pretty sure it's Capitola.
Fran I had to look Capitola up! Yes it is, but all I knew is that she was in Santa Cruz ;-) I've never been there but she's facetimed a few times and it's beautiful there!
It looks incredible! I have been to SFO for work but never down there. Sure would like to see it though.
If Anyone wants to post new photos please feel free. Love this game!!!
I could certainly continue if folks are ok ?
Kim--How about if you wait till tomorrow morning and if someone else wants to post a picture, they can. If no one posts by tomorrow morning, go ahead.
OK, let's give this one a try. Please forgive the image quality -- it was taken at dusk and cropped from a small section of a cell phone photo. If no one recognizes it, I'll post a version that is zoomed out a bit more.
Dan
That is hauntingly familiar - I know I've been there but can't quite place it. The buildings look European but the water tower is uniquely American... Annapolis, MD?
That's what I was thinking, either Annapolis or Baltimore.
Let's go straight to a big hint.
Wow, OK, we are all SO wrong!!

Someone else say it, as I don't have any pictures..
Of course - I knew I'd been there before.
Ellis Island, New York
Exactly. Shot from Liberty State Park in Jersey City.
Here's a brighter photo taken from a short distance away.
Dan
That was a good one - the original picture had enough hints that it should have been recognizable

Here's my next offering, what city is this in?
Hmm... I thought that this image would be guessed quite quickly. Here's another picture from the same city
Hard to see but the writing on the building looks like something in an Asian language. Possibly Japanese or Chinese. I think there's a tower like that in Tokyo but don't think that's this one.
Tokyo Tower is a replica of the Eiffel Tower (just made a couple of feet higher than the original) but this city is closer to Tokyo than it is to Paris
2nd pic gave it with Frans answer,I think its Kobe
The language puzzled me - English on the tower and possibly characters on the building (or was that something you obscured?). Then there's the palm tree so I'll try Okinawa?
Don't know a city name.
Sleepychef - you have it. It is indeed the city of Kobé, where I grew up and spent my youth

The first picture is Kobe Tower, the second is monument to the
Hanshin Earthquake 1995 in which I lost a number of my school classmates.
sorry to hear about your classmates, I remember it due to how fast they sorted their roads.
View is from standing on a famous bridge
I recognize this for some reason...haven't been...but is it in Italian Alps?
Northside of them, not Italy
Mostar Bridge? Famous high dive spot.
Neutral Country, no diving from this bridge
Google allowed
Easy country hint....Switzerland.
But I don’t know city, bridge.
Mostar Bridge? Famous high dive spot.
I was going to say Mostar but if it is Switzerland then I've no idea. The only 'famous' bridge I can think of is Luzerne and the photo is definitely not from that bridge.
OK, had to Google. Lavertezzo double arch bridge? Apparently while people don't jump from the actual bridge they do jump from the rocks under it. Beautiful spot but jumping is not for me.

If correct someone else go ahead and post the next photo please.
So I’ll go. Pictures getting slim.
Ok so hint. Large US university that fell big in recent basketball game.
One of many tough losses in the brackets this year.
Hi. Whoever posts the next picture, please start a new thread. Thanks.
