almost ready to go and should i be worried @ AA - 11/17/2012 01:23 AM

In the BVI forum their is some talk re: American Airlines in Chapter 11 and problems. We will be flying from Miami to Trinidad in a couple of weeks and was wondering if anyone else had any problems or heard anything about cancelled flights on this route. Haven't heard anything from AA but don't want to hear at the last minute that something is going to be amiss.

They have been in Chapter 11 for a while now, so that is not new. Some reports say they are close to a new contract with the pilots. Rumors about merger also, but who knows. Nothing indicates that they are about to stop flying at all.

American Airlines is still flying - we just flew AA from MIA to the Caribbean a couple of weeks ago and our flight actually took off a few minutes early.

You can check the the actual departure/arrival times for the Miami to Trinidad flight every day on the AA website - simply go to Flight Status and enter the departure and arrival airport. Check it regularly between now and when you'll leave and you'll know more about the on time record than most of the contributors on this forum.

We flew AA from Boston to Miami on 11/18. Stayed over 1 night, then Miami to SXM on 11/19. Both flights perfect and even early. SXM to Miami, early and on time on 11/30. Miami to Boston, delayed 1 hour. All flights had great crews. No problems at all. Good Luck!
