It was in all the papers down here. Really good prices from mid west to Miami. And Mid Atlantic states.

I flew Frontier for the first time earlier this month. The outgoing flight was fine. The return flight was cancelled! Fortunately I was able to basically do a walk up booking on Southwest for almost the same money. Frontier gave me back my money and gave me a $200 voucher. I will definitely use it, and hopefully the next trip will turn out better. I haven't gotten the credit card bill yet for the four hours at the airport bar! Frontier appears to be in a massive build up of flights. I hope they can be trusted better than Allegiant, which has had a TON of maintenance problems, including multiple instances of no working a/c!!!

Do yourself a BIG favor and read some of their reviews.

Yes they have terrible reviews. It's a discount airline. I was just thinking of those that live in the Midwest and have a hard time getting to islands.
And living on East Coast it's easy to get to SXM.

Booking two separate tickets is really a PITA, plus, up to now, Florida really hasn't been much of a bargain on air to SXM. If and when Southwest and Jet Blue start flying out of Ft Lauderdale, that may change, hopefully.

I don't know if I'd count on that happening since those of us in the greater tri-state area have consistently watched the AA flights disappear and the JB flights increase in price. It's all about competition and every time we experience another airline merger we seem to see the existing airlines' prices increase. I get the old supply and demand thing but the only time you can really get a bargain these days is by paying very close attention or just by sheer good (dumb?) luck.

Re: Frontier Airlines - 07/28/2017 06:06 PM

Pat--there is a LOT of competition in the NY market, compared to Florida, which basically has AA nonstop and Spirit, if you can count them. I think if Southwest comes, it may cause AA to pay some attention to prices in Florida. I personally am not a big fan of Jet Blue, as they screwed me over on more than one occasion, but any new competition would be good.

Frontier worked for us seamlessly between Minneapolis and Denver for couple of years. Never delayed, always clean. Unfortunately they permanently changed the schedule this spring and we have to find a substitute.
