Perspective on Covid Testing - 07/07/2020 05:53 PM

With SXM delaying flights from the US and Florida taking a lot of the blame, I just wanted to give a perspective on Covid-19 testing in Europe versus the US. France has a population of 66.7 million people, but has only completed 1,689,718 covid-19 test. While in Florida, with a population of 21.5 million, we have completed 2,271,267 test. Florida has completed over a half million more test with a third of the population. If you look at the Netherlands, with a population of 17.3 million, they have only done 411,972 covid test. In the EU, they only test people who present themselves with symptoms to health care providers. They don't have drive up or walk up covid testing sites like here in the US. I will contend that the only reason the EU has better covid numbers is because they don't test nearly enough like the US. If we had the same standards for testing like the EU, our covid-19 numbers would be much better than what they are today.

This is the kind of endless Covid 19 stats that my post at the top of the SXM forum is talking about. If you want to debate these things, please go to a current events forum on another board.
