Bare Necessities slow to announce future cruises - 04/22/2017 03:13 PM

Some speculation going as to why they haven't announced any new future cruises. By now, they usually have their summer cruise for the following year and their spring cruise 2 years out announced and taking bookings.

winding down the business ???

I don't have any idea. Have they had trouble selling out recently?

Not very many cabins left on BNB2018.

17 was a sellout. Might just be dragging negotiations. What I was told is that th cruise lines really come to them wanting the charter vice the other way around.

I don't have any idea, but it is a good deal for the cruise line, to have a guaranteed sell out.. Could be that they are dragging out negotiations, as you say.

Rumor has it that they will announce 2019 BNB the first week of May.

So, as a recent history lesson on their announcements......2013,2014,2015,2016,2017 all announced during the February cruises 2 years out. Folks could book onboard as the first too know. Feb 2018 cruise was announced after the feb 2016 cruise around mid April 2016.

So, that is why it is unusual as the recent pattern has changed. Does a September 2017 announcement mean a shorter booking period for a February 2019 cruise or portend a fall 2019 cruise?? Fanta sea fest?

I personally would like a summer cruise for scheduling and I don't mind the hot Caribbean in the summer.

Actually, I would be really surprised if they went away from winter cruises. A large portion of their clients live where they can't normally get any sun during winter. Hard to ignore that..

I heard an interview with the BN owner and she made a good point. The cruise lines come to them because not only can they virtually guarantee a sell out, but more important to the ship's bottom line; every passenger is of drinking and gambling age. Something that doesn't occur on other cruises.

They finally announced their summer med on Royal Clipper and pacific island cruise on the Paul Gauguin but not the normal Big Nude Boat in Feb 2019. Word has it, that BNB will be announced in Sep...does that mean it won't be in February 2019? a fall 2019 Fanta sea fest stop in Key West?
