Florida weather next week. Cypress vs. Caliente?

Florida weather next week. Cypress vs. Caliente? - 10/10/2017 07:24 PM

My wife and I will find ourselves near Florida this weekend and thought maybe we'd fly over for a few days at a resort. We've never been to a nude resort in Florida.

The weather reports show chances of rain in the 50-80% range, but I'm not sure that's a dealkiller or not. Seems like there's always a chance of rain in sunny Florida.

Also, which resort would you recommend? We're not looking for a party atmosphere, just a nice facility with plenty of room to relax in the sun.

This time of year in Florida there is always a chance of rain. Have not really looked that far ahead, unless their is a major front coming thru you can expect afternoon thunderstorms as a possibility. Which means you can get dumped on or not a single drop because it is just across the street or down the block.

We laugh at the local paper here, as one day they will say the chance of rain is 62% (not 60 or 65 or 70, but 62), then the next day it says 18% <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/duh.gif" alt="" />

And it is wrong over half the time! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />

We haven't been to Caliente in a while, but as far as I know, they still don't have their AANR certification back? If you want a more straight up nudist venue, Cypress Cove is that. Caliente is beautiful though.

Are there other resorts we should be looking at, Paradise Lakes or anything else?

We're a blank slate when it comes to Florida.

We haven't been to any of them for a while, as we have our own private back yard. If you are looking for AANR, go with Cypress Cove. Haven't been to Paradise in a really long time. It was in pretty rough shape the last time we were there, but no idea on current condition. Caliente has a neat sports bar in the main building, but I understand they also get a lot of textiles now, which I don't really know why.

Hopefully someone else will answer with more current info.

You can't go wrong with Cypress. Check here for what's happening:

or you may not care about activities if you just want to hang out at the pool(s).
Note they may be full the weekend of 10/21 due to NudeAPaloosa.

We also recommend Cypress Cove. It has great facilities, great amenities, and a relaxed naturist ambience.

We have reserved an RV site for our 5th wheel for the entire month of March.

This is still summer in central Florida. The days usually start out clear in the morning, clouds form as lunchtime approaches, you get a short rain storm in the mid afternoon, and then the clouds move off to the west towards Tampa. YMMV...

You're darn tootin', it's still summer in Central Florida! In the 90s here every day.. By October, it gets a little old.. I'm ready for it to cool down a bit.

Cypress Cove really is the best place unless you’re looking for non-AANR activity.

High quality accomodations, high quality food 3 meals a day, high quality pools, high quality massage, high quality sports and lake activities, high quality entertainment at pool and dinner, clean and well kept, can bring own drinks/food to pool which also has great food/drinks reasonably priced, place always has people which many of the pasco places can be deserted save weekends.

I could go on.

I remember back in 1968-1971 when I was assigned to Patrick AFB we would stop water skiing around the first of November because the water temperature in the Bannana River would drop below 80... We started again around the first of March...

Cypress Cove for weekend relax. Employees are great---bartender calls you by name (usually). Caliente is relaxing during week but tends to fire up quite a bit on weekends.

sorry for the delayed response, we decided to not take the Florida detour, but the information here is great for when we do.

Thank you.
