Guessing this was one of the lost threads. Email from Treasure Coast Naturists updated status of the beach after Milton;

BEACH UPDATE, TUESDAY, 10/15/24

We are sorry to report that the gates to Blind Creek Beach are again locked as of today, Tuesday 10/15/24. Apparently, they were opened on Saturday without authorization. The park remains closed until such time that the County can declare that it is safe for public use. Once that authorization occurs, the County will unlock the gates. The County hopes to have this done by the end of the week, but no promises.

As of 2pm today, the Sheriff's Department was removing people from the beach who had parked on A1A and walked in.

The County asks that beachgoers do not open the gate or damage the chain lock. They will reopen the gates when they've determined that it is safe to do so.

Thank you to everyone who came out over the weekend and assisted with the massive cleanup! Those efforts should go a long way in getting the beach reopened sooner than later.

We will continue to communicate with the County, and let you know as soon as we have an update.

St. Lucie County posted a service interruption alert for St. Lucie County.
10h ·
St. Lucie County Parks crews worked late into the evening to reopen Blind Creek Beach and Walton Rocks Beach starting Saturday, Oct. 19.
However, White City Park remains closed due to high water levels from the King Tides and heavy rains from Hurricane Milton.
We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding as many county crews have been diverted from their normal duties to assist with relief and recovery efforts from Hurricane Milton.

TCN & BLIND CREEK BEACH HAPPENINGS

Blind Creek Beach is Open!

The gates to Blind Creek Beach were reopened on October 19th after the County determined the area was again safe for usage. Our thanks go out to St Lucie County Parks & Recreation for their work to restore the park. The parking lot has been regraded and is now in good shape. As for the beach itself, it was a bit narrow after the storms but is slowly coming back. However, we may still see a narrow beach due to king tides.

What are King Tides?

King Tides are exceptionally high tides that occur when the moon is closest to the earth and is either full or new. In Florida, King Tides are most common in the Fall, when seasonal factors like water temperature and currents cause sea levels to rise.

High King Tides are anticipated on these dates:
Oct 30 - Nov 4
Nov 13-18
Nov 29-30

Due to the higher-than-average tides, we may still see debris washing up on the beach. Why not make everyday beach cleanup day? Bring a trash bag when you visit and pick up any debris near your encampment. Our thanks to those beachgoers who regularly make a habit of keeping our beach the cleanest in the County!

Update from Treasure Coast Naturists on the renovations (hard to envison people hiking a mile south down the sidewalk along A1A!!!):

Update on the Parking Area Construction
The County posted this update today:

The parking area at Blind Creek Beach will be closed for renovations starting Monday, Jan. 6 and remain closed through mid-summer.
St. Lucie County’s Parks, Recreation and Facilities Department is launching a major renovation of the parking area to include restroom facilities at Blind Creek Beach - St. Lucie County’s only clothing-optional beach. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by July 2025.

While the parking area is closed, the beach will remain open for pedestrian traffic. Beachgoers, who wish to continue to use Blind Creek Beach, can access the designated clothing-optional section by parking at the Little Mud Creek parking lot, 5460 S Ocean Drive, and proceeding south along the sidewalk on A1A to a temporary beach access entrance or access that from the beachside.

New Year's Day Polar Bare Plunge is Happening!

Join us on the beach on New Year's Day for our annual Polar Bare Plunge. We will jump into the water together at 12 noon!

This is an informal event - no head count or bracelets - just a fun way to start the new year off with like-minded friends. Hope to see you there!

The latest while construction in the main parking area is in progress:
Unfortunately there is no main entrance at this time. The closest entrance is just to the North of the main which is the nature trail entrance. You can park in the grass along A1A then have to walk the distance on the trail from A1A to the beach access to the North of the main access.
(there is also parking a mile north at the Mud Creek lot, NOT along the concrete wall, take the path in from there and walk south on the beach a ways):
Posted By: Carol_Hill Re: Blind Creek - 01/21/2025 02:22 PM
Chuck--at the moment, Florida is cold as h*ll, so I doubt anyone is using the beach there right now. Hopefully it will warm up soon. It has been very cold all year so far.
Posted By: TJTrippe Re: Blind Creek - 01/21/2025 11:29 PM
The walk about .7 of a mile from Little Mud Parking lot to a path at Blind Creek, then the trek east to the beach. I’m betting A1A will be filled with shoulder parkers like they do when Blind Creek lot fills up.

While we are fit, the idea of a mile walk is a big detriment to going. The thought of dragging chair cart on the sand for any length is also a downer.

I liked BC Beach as is but the lot was like Club O road or worse after the last few months rain. Need to buy shocks after every trip. But they could just grade it instead of asphalt imho
Posted By: ChuckG Re: Blind Creek - 01/22/2025 12:47 PM
Carol, yep, feel sorry for folks wanting the beach this week! TJ, I think a person would be fine just walking the short distance to the beach at Mud Creek (turn right at the boat ramp), heading south a hundred yards or so and plopping down there.
Posted By: TJTrippe Re: Blind Creek - 01/23/2025 02:44 AM
At Blind creek we plop down as close to beach entry point as possible. So if we entered at little mud beach, wed walk 10 yards south, set up and plead ignorance as to where the Au naturelle part started. 100 yards is like a football field smile
Posted By: ChuckG Re: Blind Creek - 01/23/2025 01:12 PM
Agree you should be fine. No signs so a good excuseI said 100 yds so it would be less likely that a fisherman might complain. Might as well give them space.

Update from TCN:
Parking During Construction

The main parking lot of Blind Creek Beach is now closed for paving and the construction of restrooms and showers. The lot is expected to be closed until sometime in July. In the meantime, the County has instructed us to park one mile north in the Mud Creek parking area. From there, we can walk down the sidewalk to the gated path to the beach; or we can access the beach near the Mud Creek boat ramp and then walk down the sand to the clothing-optional area. The walk from Mud Creek to the clothing-optional area is approximately 3/4 mile. Please observe the "No Parking" areas when parking at Mud Creek.

Those are the County's instructions, and we encourage you to follow them.

Many people have opted to park on A1A near the gated path. While the County has thus far tolerated this practice, please be warned that the deputies have issued tickets to people who were parked mere inches into the bike lane. DO NOT PARK ON THE BIKE LANE OR ON THE SIDEWALK or you risk receiving a citation.

Please SLOW DOWN when driving through this area of A1A. The speed limit is 55 mph, and we are aware of at least TWO ACCIDENTS that have occurred involving cars that were parked on the shoulder. Please drive and park safely!
Posted By: Carol_Hill Re: Blind Creek - 02/15/2025 02:52 PM
Thanks for the update. Sounds like the walk would be too much for me personally. Not a very convenient parking situation at all..
Posted By: ChuckG Re: Blind Creek - 02/20/2025 12:43 PM
Carol, I don't have personal knowledge of the situation now but I would think that folks and beach equipment could be dropped off at the temporary path just north of the Blind Creek main lot, then the driver could go park farther north. It's a short walk directly to the beach on the temporary path, I do know that.
Posted By: Carol_Hill Re: Blind Creek - 02/20/2025 02:18 PM
OK thanks.
Posted By: TJTrippe Re: Blind Creek - 02/20/2025 06:59 PM
The path, wide enough for a bulldozer is 99% level cut grass surrounded by lush jungle. It is a 5 minute walk to dune entry. That part is as wide as a large shopping cart. We have chairs that fold up to make a two wheel beach cart. Very easy if walking with just a towel or with an easy to pull cart. The narrower dune sand path i would guess is about 50 feet. It is easy finding a place to plop down after reaching the beach. We dont go far. But you the nude beach is probably a mile long, so if you want seclusion you can find it.

No portapotties. Just garbage cans at A1A

Parking along A1A is plentiful on both sides. The eastern side of road has a wide asphalt bike path. So you can walk, pull a cart easily down that path to the jungle walk to the beach. Yes, you could pull over, unload, and park further down A1A to reduce the walk.

These two products make beach days painless. The chair makes a cart that tackles sand with minimum pull effort. The sunshade is so light.

TJ, thanks for the parking info and cart tip. Have seen those wheeled lounger carts before somewhere. Might be nice for the present parking situation. Worth mentioning again to avoid parking even a little on the bike path or you might get a ticket.
Posted By: TJTrippe Re: Blind Creek - 02/21/2025 03:32 PM
Very true. There is grass on both sides of A1A and your car must be off the road, off the shoulder and in the grass. And finally, NOT on the asphalt bike path. St Lucie County Sheriff will right tickets.

They clearly aren’t forcing people to park .7 of a mile in Little Mud parking lot and making the trek either down A1A or down the beach.

The parking lot was like club O’s road when it needed paving. Probably worse. It looks like they have cleared out all the trees and fences and will have more parking. They might as well double or triple their plan (like they would in Texas) because more and more people come every week. It is the new Club O which is where a lot of nudists we’ve met fist shed their suit.

If they put a food truck in this new lot. Katie bar the door.

The latest from TCN
DO NOT PARK IN THE BIKE LANE OR ON THE SIDEWALK ON A1A

We've been asked by the Sheriff's Department to pass this message to our beachgoers. Many people have been parking on A1A and blocking either the sidewalk or the bike lane. This is not permitted and creates a hazard. If you park on A1A, please be sure that your tires are not touching the sidewalk or the bike lane. The Sheriff's Department has stated that they will have no choice but to ticket and/or tow any cars that are parked illegally. Your cooperation is appreciated!
Posted By: ChuckG Re: Blind Creek - 02/27/2025 09:04 PM
It's going from bad to worse!
We're issuing the bi-monthly newsletter a few days early to provide the latest update on the parking situation at Blind Creek Beach.

Beachgoers are no longer permitted to park on A1A.

Effective Thursday, February 27th, the County has erected "No Parking" signs on A1A between the Blind Creek and Mud Creek parking lots. Beachgoers can no longer park on the road. The original instructions received from the County will be enforced: We are directed to park in the Mud Creek parking area. From there, we can walk down the sidewalk to the gated path to the beach; or we can access the beach near the Mud Creek boat ramp and then walk down the sand to the clothing-optional area. The walk from Mud Creek to the clothing-optional area is approximately 3/4 mile. As a reminder, the clothing-optional area starts north of the lookout tower near the gated path and goes south to the FPL property line. Please observe the "No Parking" areas when parking at Mud Creek.

Unfortunately, we were also advised today that the re-opening date for the main parking lot has been pushed out to approximately September 2025.
Posted By: Carol_Hill Re: Blind Creek - 02/28/2025 12:36 AM
Looks like a very tough summer.
Posted By: TJTrippe Re: Blind Creek - 02/28/2025 03:13 AM
Well, it was wet yesterday in the grass on both sides of A1A, so almost everybody kept 2 of their wheels on the pavement. The shoulder is about 3 feet. So, if cars take up 1-2 feet of that shoulder, there is no shoulder. It starts to border on unsafe. Cars are whipping by at 55+.

The Mud Creek lot will fill in an instant and cars will have no choice but to leave or A1A. The majority of people will plop down at the Mud Creek beach entrance.

It will cut down on the less able bodied ability to visit.

September?????? Need to get DOGE in there. The lot is cleared. Call the asphalt trucks.
Posted By: ChuckG Re: Blind Creek - 02/28/2025 11:58 AM
Yep, sucks for sure. Either get there really early if you want to park at Mud Creek, car pool or bring a bike and park at Waldon Rocks or Middle Cove 2.4 mi north or south and ride back. IMHO if they are going to prohibit parking on A1A they should provide shuttle buses from those lots. OR keep the A1A parking and lower the friggin speed limit through there to 25 until September
Posted By: arehouse Re: Blind Creek - 03/02/2025 04:46 PM
Yesterday (Saturday), my wife and I drove south on A1A past Blind Creek Beach. The Mud Creek parking lot seemed pretty full. There was an electronic sign between Mud Creek and the pedestrian access to Blind Creek that stated simply "No Parking". As we got closer to Blind Creek pedestrian access there were many, many (75 to 100) cars parked on the west side of A1A. There were no tickets visible, and no tow trucks in the area. There was no sign on the northbound side of A1A and no cars parked on that side.
Posted By: TJTrippe Re: Blind Creek - 03/03/2025 08:28 PM
Today (a Monday), we found the same sign and maybe 30 or so cars parked on the west side of A1A. No cars parked on the east side of A1A which now has No Parking signs on metals posts every so many feet that say “No parking anytime”. No tickets seen on windows.

We decided to park at Little Mud parking lot. From the lot it’s a little walk to the trail which is ok to pull a cart on. Say a few minutes walk. You pass multiple signs which tell you “No Nudity at Little Mud beach”.

AND THEN, you approach a narrow, sand hill trail with what looks to be at least 15 feet of elevation. Maybe 20. Our beach carts have never been a problem but out was no fun pulling them up this hill to the beach.

Once on the beach it was pretty deserted. We dragged our carts a lot further than we ever do at the old and newer Blind Creek entrance until we saw the first nudists. We plopped down and set up becoming the new closest nudists.

It was a good day but I doubt we will do that again often. Had a bit too much chore associated with it. Juice not worth the squeeze feel.

We will probably park on west side of A1A and if that becomes impossible, we will probably turn Textile.

We drove by the construction area. Doesn’t look much different except some large concrete pipes, sewer I guess. Seems like a huge waste of money. They could have easily put a septic field out there.

Ill bet however many parking spots they put in will be 1/4 what they will need long-term.
Posted By: ChuckG Re: Blind Creek - 04/01/2025 10:33 AM
Some bad news/good news on the construction. It's been on hold for a while due to Indian remains being found from the digging. The good news is (from a friend on the TCN board):
"I just found out that St. Lucie County got the archeological permit to continue work on BCB parking lot, so that's a bit of good news. Hopefully they start up again soon.."

So no new date for completion but probably later than September now. We are hoping that it will be done in time for our stay there in November.
Posted By: ChuckG Re: Blind Creek - 04/01/2025 04:09 PM
From TCN:
Update on the Parking Lot Construction

Apparently, something of archeological interest was discovered during the initial demolition phase of the parking area, causing construction to halt until an archeological survey and permit were obtained.Per today's Blind Creek Construction Progress Meeting, the contractor is remobilizing this week and will resume construction next week. The contractor will be working closely with the archeological monitoring team to re-establish a new construction schedule. Unfortunately, they won't know for sure what the projects new estimated date of completion will be until the contractor and the monitoring team have worked together for a few weeks to establish the pace that it will take to work under these archeological monitoring requirements. Once we know more in a few weeks, I will pass the info along."

We will continue to update you as soon as we have more information.
In the meantime, beachgoers may continue to park at the Little Mud lot. No parking is permitted on Ocean Drive (A1A).

We hope it's done for our March 2026 trip!
We certainly missed it this year!
Posted By: TJTrippe Re: Blind Creek - 04/02/2025 02:40 AM
Time flies it has been 4 weeks since we went back……..the lugging of gear to/from little Mud is a deterrent for us. Im a minority, but I would rather they just made the existing sand lot three times as big and graded it now and again.

We did visit Sunnier Palms for the first time in a long while. They are recovering from the traumatic Tornado hit fairly well. It was nice to see pool/hot tub area up and running and campground full of RVs and tent campers.
Posted By: ChuckG Re: Blind Creek - 07/05/2025 10:18 AM
Latest update on construction will not be finished until the end of December 2025!
Posted By: TJTrippe Re: Blind Creek - 07/07/2025 08:14 PM
Sand is usually flat and easy to dig trenches and bury pipe and re-level. America has been laying blacktop for over a century. The equipment exists in Florida. Florida builders can build the walls for a concrete block house within a week.

The old parking lot was bumpy after awhile but closing the beach access for a year to pave a parking lot is county government buffoonery.

They will get those baths built just in time for a hurricane storm surge to turn this job into a 2 year closure…….or even if they get it done…the storm will come some year in the future and close the beach for a year.

Haven't seen that beach in 3 months now.

I hope they exceed my expectations which aren’t high.

May make a visit soon to see “the progress”. If I don't see concrete block structure or asphalt, I cant imagine what they have been doing all summer.

Maybe they will dazzle me.

OK thanks Carol/Eric, should have remembered that! A suggestion that would help forgetful folks like me, can you put the attachment link at the top of the box like the others?

Here is an advisory from TCN:

SHERIFF ACTIVITY AT THE BEACH

The patrol captain from the St Lucie County Sheriff's office called us today. She said there have been several complaints about nudity at Little Mud. The deputies have now been instructed by Sheriff Del Toro to go out onto the beach twice a day and tell people they need to move. If the situation persists, they will be taking stronger action which could include citations. The captain was unable to tell me what "stronger action" would look like, but the Sheriff is consulting with the County Attorney to see what action can be taken. The captain's call to us was a courtesy heads-up message. She asked that we spread this to our beachgoers so that we can avoid things getting ugly.

PLEASE HEED THIS WARNING!

On the positive side, we were told by Parks & Recreation that the parking area may be opening as early as November. Let's hope that's the case!
