Pirates @ Norman

Pirates @ Norman - 10/15/2015 11:35 AM

We were the first customers of the season last night at Pirates Bight. Such a pretty restaurant and bar. Good service. We both had ribs and fries, split a salad, 1 drink each. $104.00. Btw, they did add 15% service charge automatically and didn't mention it.

Always check for service charge..some places are still putting it on the "tax" line (Tropical Fusion in Long Bay for one)..no meal taxes in the BVI's..that's a service charge..

Glad the service seemed better than we had last season.
"Whatya wanna eat?" was how our evening started and went downhill from there. I challenged the 15% service charge, it was removed without argument or asking for an explanation, which I would have been happy to provide.
The good news? I can pull in their WiFi from the cat and won't need to go ashore again.

Cooper has a brewery now?

I did see a building to the left of the restaurant that could be a brewery. But no signs. I didn't mind the service charge as I always give 20%. But I am glad that Manpot gave me a heads up about it a few months ago.
Had dinner at Saba Rock tonight and they did not add the service charge. Service was ok and food was ok. Mahi tasted funny but hubs said his grilled chicken was excellent. After dinner I heard a fellow order a burger and they let him. It wasn't on the menu. Wish I would have thought of that!

I have read about the cooper island microbrewery in several places. A post on trip advisor reported seeing the equip arrive. There was at least one post here that talked about it opening around now. Another post somewhere said it was located near the coffee shop.

So that's were I get my info from. A Google search would find all of these. No first hand experience yet.

At Saba, there is a Pub menu you can order off of for dinner.

A few times we were there, they didn't off the Pub menu unless I asked for it.
