Anouk

Anouk - 12/29/2015 06:59 PM

During 14 sails to the BVI, one of my favorite memories was always a morning visit from Anouk at Marina Cay, Trellis, etc. Unlike some of the islands further south that are besieged by "boat boys," the BVI had Anouk, who sold jewelry from her dinghy. It was a win-win situation. The guys loved seeing and doing business with this sweet Meg Ryan look-alike with a French accent. The women loved that their guys were so anxious to buy them jewelry, even if it was from beautiful Anouk because they liked her too! I didn't see Anouk last trip and wondered if anyone can give an update. I am only asking because I want to buy my wife some jewelry for her upcoming birthday!

I could be completely " all wet" about this, but I'm thinking I've read she now plies North Sound ?????

Back in the day, I know she did her production, and offered her work for sale, right at Trellis, ( as well as boat to boat) but once she became Mom, or once she had a child ready for school, she moved over to VG.

Does this ring a bell with anyone else ?

She did move her boat over to North Sound some time ago. Don't know if she is still there. I hope so...

Thank you Breeze! She was very nice to our crew, she kept handing up tray after tray until the girls found that perfect piece. It's people like Anouk that make our trips memorable, last trip it was a Rasta named Charlie selling homemade charcoal for me! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/toast.gif" alt="" />

We saw her in July at Saba. She said she was anchored in Oil Nut Bay for the storm season. My ladies were very happy to do some shopping. I was very happy not to have to take them somewhere to shop!

Cheers, RickG

We always called her the "Sea Hippie", bought a bunch of stuff from her at Saba about 2 weeks ago. We always look for her.

Our last 3 visits she was in the North Sound.

Good to know her name..

She's pretty much permanent in North Sound these days. She anchors close to Prickly Pear in high season, then moves to Deep Bay, close to the mangroves, for hurricane season. She's a hoot.
