Getting from st thomas to bvi - 03/07/2016 04:59 AM

We have taken the ferry many times and find it to be a long drawn out process! Is there a better way to get from st thomas to the bvi?

Private water taxis can cut that time down significantly, but at a substantial cost. So, unfortunately, the ferries remain the transportation mode of choice.

Fly to EIS instead of STT?

We generally take the ferry from Charlotte Amalie to Tortola. There we provision and meet a private water taxi that takes us to Jost.
This year we are looking to share Foxy's Water Taxi from STT to Jost on Monday, March 28th. Time is flexible, just not early morning as we have business on STT that day. Cost is $400 divided by # of travelers + $40 each for customs. Let me know if anyone's travel lines up with ours. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/toast.gif" alt="" /> not long now!

"Cost is $400 divided by # of travelers + $40 each for customs"

If I'm reading this correctly, on their website it indicates $95 per person, so for 8 of us it would be $760. If it is $400 divided by 8 of us the cost would only be $50 per person. Which is correct?

Orange Burst,

I have copy/pasted the email response I got from Foxy's below:

"Greetings from the BVI and thank you for your inquiry. We do currently have availability on march 28th and would be happy to provide water taxi service from Red Hook to Sandy Ground. The cost would be $400 plus $40 per person for the International processing fees."

I was given the impression (could be the wrong impression) that if I added other travelers, we would split the $400. I guess I best clarify that with them.

AA still list flights on their website from SJU to EIS - (they use Seaborne) - we booked ahead on AA and caught them at $99 each way. Always an option.
