United Airlines - 10/25/2017 02:16 AM

We have 10 people flying down on Dec 25th. We booked this well after the last storm. This lack of commitment to VI recovery by United Airlines is stunning. See below message just received today:

An update about your scheduled flight to/from the Caribbean

Due to the hurricanes that impacted the Caribbean, United is suspending all flights to and from St. Thomas (STT) and St. Maarten (SXM) through April 8.

According to our records, your reservation is affected by these changes.

I think the lack of commitment is more on the passenger side. UAL has a large number of passengers demanding full refunds for non refundable tickets on flights they intended to operate well into the spring. If they refuse to refund the tickets they are a terrible airline. If they refund the tickets but cancel flights that will now be way underbooked they are a terrible airline.
When the commitment from the tourists to return becomes a reality the flights will come back quickly.
