Baths NOT closed 9am to 2pm for cruise ships - 07/01/2021 12:27 AM

Starting tomorrow, the Baths will be closed to residents and other tourists whenever a cruise ship is in port. This could get interesting if more cruise ships start coming.

As of tomorrow Little Apple Bay will be closed to anybody slightly resembling a cruise ship passenger. I hear Smuggler's Cove and several others are joining this ban. Taxivans and Safari buses carrying more than a dozen people will be turned around at Sebastian's and sent to Brandywine Bay...

This got interesting even faster than I expected! This has to be being imposed by the cruise companies, which probably figure they have the government by the balls. And which now doubt are freaked by the Covid spike.

Come high season, however, there are ships in port at least six days/week. That would mean the Baths are effectively closed to residents and visitors! You could swim in from a mooring at daybreak, or go late afternoon, but that wouldn't give a charter boat much time to get to an anchorage by sunset. So people who spend $$$$ to charter a boat would be excluded for the benefit of $7/day visitors.
