Travel Insurance - 06/05/2022 02:05 PM

Sorry if this subject has been discussed before. I have in the past few days looked at dozens of travel insurance plans, but not one has identified coverage for possible quarantine lodging if required. Covid medical expenses are covered in detail, but no mention if placed in quarantine at a hotel or other facility for whatever number of days due to positive test result. Any experience with this or is self insurance (credit card) the norm? Thanks..

Look at the Safe Voyager plan from Trawick International. Different levels of quarantine coverage. I purchase via Insubuy.

An inexpensive option that provides limited quarantine accommodation expense coverage is GoReady Insurance through Squaremouth.com. Coverage range from $500-2000 for accommodations due to covid trip delay. Costs between $20 and $40 per person per trip, age of insured dependent and of course waiting till the last minute can cause costs to go up. Also covers medical expenses and medical repatriation expenses.

The Safe Voyager plan is the one we also use.
