Restaurant feedback - 06/12/2022 11:28 PM

Headed down Friday - youngest daughter is finally testing negative after having COVID and so far the rest of us are clear!

1. Any recent feedback for Pirates? It was bad twice last June.
2. Not sure we want to get a taxi or rental car, but Sugarcane looks nice! We have rented to drive to CocoMaya multiple times and really like it, but we love upstairs Leverick as well. We will spend two nights in NS, so thinking Leverick and Bitter End, but could drop one if Sugarcane is highly recommended. Obviously Saba is an option and NS Bistro as well. Thoughts if you have two nights. We are down for two weeks so we could make three nights in NS work.
3. In CGB, Paradise or Indigo with two in my family having gluten allergies. We have done Bananakeet and like it, but want to try something new.

Thank you in advance!

We always grab a ball at BEYC. Easy to go between there and Saba. North Sound Bistro was not open when we were there in April…we grabbed a ball and checked it out. Could be choppy with fetch - wind dependent.

Last two trips to Sugarcane (this pst year) we’re unremarkable.

Good to know. We have opted to do just as you suggested and pick up a ball at BEYC and enjoy Saba BEYC via dinghy

If I had two nights it would definitely be Leverick and Coco Maya. If North Sound Bistro is open I would not hesitate there either!
Sugarcane has a cool bar and would be a nice stop for a sunset cocktail as Nail Bay sees amazing sunsets. Agree with MIDiver that the food is nothing to write home about.

It was great when chef Ari was there but I agree it's nothing special now. Beautiful, but better food available other places.

In CGB, you might message Indigo and ask about the Gluten options. I'm not particularly well educated on that area but they do have a pretty limited menu so it could be an issue. You'll need a reservation anyway so give Vishaal a call.

That said, the food at Paradise is great! Don't miss the wahoo ceviche!

We have found BEYC to be consistently better than Saba this year, but Saba is a nice experience when all is running well (and it’s just stunning visually). Unlike many we just aren’t Leverick fans - aside from the upstairs restaurant we don’t like the vibe there.

As Jason mentioned check with Indigo Beach House - they are always super helpful with special inquiries. We really enjoy it there.

Greetings,
Just did 8 days land based on VG and a night on the front end and back end at Coconut Breeze Villas which was fantastic. Working on a trip report. We had excellent meals on VG at:
Saba (twice)
BEYC
Coco Maya (twice)
Those were the highlights - a few other places were good/ok.

On Tortola - Excellent - both recommended by Jason/Tiffany, Elizabeth
Paradise
Quitos
Hopefully that helps.

Glad you enjoyed our little piece of paradise! Thanks for staying with us. It was a pleasure!

Coco Maya is a must and Upstairs always nice but may be closed. I can never be on VG without a stop at Hog Heaven.

Tortola north side you might try Sugar Mill which always presents a very nice meal and the ambience is very good. D'Coal Pot also rocks. Only rem Ginger Wine Chicken that I know. It is the home of the original and they have the recipe.

This is all super helpful - thank you! I’d really like to do Leverick upstairs, BEYC, and CocoMaya. We’ll see.
