Are there any restrictions on bringing vape pens (non-TCH) through TSA or BVI customs? Asking for a friend.

I dont think there are restrictions but..that said..I would advise against it. I have discovered over the many years or travelling in and out of the BVI that C and I officials and the TSA do not always know all the rules and can apply their own instant judgement..that might ruin the start of a great vacation. Leave them at home and you might be able to get some on island..but that I dont know for sure.As a sidebar and more serious..but a US citizen just spent 6 weeks in jail on Tortola for carrying a gun on his private jet..even though he had a US permit for it.. A fine of $50,000 and time served finally got him released with his plans of buying a multi $$$$ home in the BVI's in ashes and his psyche severly damaged. Every country has its own rules....

I had a recent experience with someone who brought a THC pen on our boat after I specifically told them not to. I'll leave it at that, but can explain more in a PM.

I am trying to think of a recent example of that. There must be something!

I am on a plane to STT right now with my family.
I had a serious conversation with my college-age daughter last night -- she is a Brittney Griner fan.
I made it clear that we do not have the resources of the WNBA and US Govt to help her if she breaks any BVI laws. She would be on her own and it would ruin her life.
She swore to me that she will only be looking forward to rum drinks, since she can legally drink in BVI ;-)

A friend of mine went to Tortola a few months ago with a couple of friend's of his through STT. One of his "friends" thought it would be a good idea to bring an ounce of weed and 10 grams of cocaine in his checked luggage. This one "friend's" luggage didn't make it out with the others. When it did appear and he claimed it he was detained...
Here is the crazy part. He was ordered to pay a $500 fine on the spot and let go after being held for about an hour.
Don't believe that would be the case coming into the BVI or returning to a US territory.....

I've taken e-cigs into BVI without any problems. Never illegal content, such as TCH. You can't put them in your checked baggage because of the batteries. I'm pretty sure breaking rules in other countries, especially narcotics laws, ends up badly (Midnight Express comes to mind). In fact, I can't think of why you would do that in your home country.

From what I heard from friends of the gun toting private jet owner his time at Huntums Ghut was very like "Midnight Express"....not the kind of six week "vacation" he was used to..

Hey. You can bring vape pens in your carry on bag when dealing with TSA.
