What happened to Corsairs? $32 for 2 crummy rum punches in plastic cups today! Yes that crummy carton fruit punch with a faint hint of some cheap rum!
I seriously thought the bartender was joking!

Yeah - my least favorite place on JVD.

So many better choices in Great Harbor to spend your money.

Why do some people rave about it? Seems people have inconsistent experiences?

Re: Corsairs - 02/18/2023 03:56 PM

I have no idea why people rave about it. We had horrible meals there twice. Owner is rude. The things I learned spending quality time with locals during COVID (worked from the boat) were telling. Tipsy Shark next door blows them out of the water in terms of food quality and service. If you want the best lobster pizza in the Caribbean go to Mac’s in Bequia. OK enough ranting for me.

Is Mac’s that pizza place with the upstairs deck and they also deliver? Years since I was there but remember it fondly. It was for sale when we were there though.

Thanks for tip re Tipsy, will try there

I have to say their Pizza is the best in the BVI. Vinnie can be a bit moody!

Jamie - yes, on the waterfront walkway. Not sure if it changed hands but wow it’s wonderful! Stayed in the area at the tail end of a sailing trip. Really enjoyed Bequia.

For us, Corsairs has been hit-or-miss. And, yes, VInny can be a d!<k. He was so obnoxious last time we were there that we said never again.

Cappriccio in Road Town...but maybe the best ever anywhere..Bistro Don Giovanni in Napa, Ca.But I judge great eateries on more that their pizzas...Corsairs may have one of the mest expensive anywhere..but Viinnie's "charm" may make it worth it..or not..

Newest place to get a pie is at the bottom of Whit Bay Villas on the beach. Pretty new, but the pizza oven they were installing last time I was there was pretty impressive. Will be trying it in a couple of weeks.

Slug - we had dinner there in late January. The pizza was pretty good (not as good as BEYC IMHO) . You need to make reservations to dine - Alice’s Restaurant at White Bay Villa Beach Club.
