Dinner on JVD

Dinner on JVD - 05/08/2023 01:15 PM

We have done a lot of weekly bareboat charters in the BVI, since 1999, but haven't been there for several years. We are bringing first-timers down in June.
My recollection is that Foxys had a good barbq ribs and burgers buffet, but we had some very good dining at Corsairs on several occasions.
After which we returned to Foxys for more music and rehydration..
Is that still sort of the case? If we want a higher end dinner on JVD is Corsairs a good bet? The new restaurant near Soggy?
Thanks

If you are staying in Great Harbor, consider Corsairs or Tipsy Shark. If you are staying in White Bay, we really like a Hendos. Of course, you can taxi as well.

Tipsy Shark is the best option in Great Harbor. Food is far superior to Corsairs (and the atmosphere is much nicer). In White Bay I recommend Hendo’s. White Bay Villa’s new beach club also has a nice atmosphere and good food. Reservations required.

We dont go to JVD without eating at Harris' Place. Cynthia is a gem, her food is delicious and it is a lesson in how to persevere in the face of challenge.

Our Children loved it too. She puts them to work (if you want) and they help her clear the table, deliver food/beverages, etc... I think they would have done the dishes if she asked.

The last time that we did Foxy's BBQ was in July 2015. It was very good.

There have been quite a few recent blogs stating it was not very good.

We feel the same about Abe’s, also in Little Harbor. The food is awesome, but it is the people that bring us back.

Much prefer Tipsy Shark for eating. Maybe Foxy’s for a drink but we were disappointed with the buffet when we last went several years ago.

Another vote for Tipsy Shark! I’ve eaten there on my last two trips, most recently last June when we brought in a black fin tuna that my grandson caught on our sail from Anegada. Their preparation was excellent, as were the sides. And, the staff is very welcoming and helpful.

Tipsy Shark was very nice last year, but the owner told me this year that they would not serve dinner on the roof this year. That was a deal-breaker for me. Went to Corsairs instead.

We gave Tipsy Shark a try this year after reading it was good. A group of 8 all said it was good but nothing to brag about. We’ll be going back to Corsair the next time.
