Several others do. DYC, Conch and Voyager are only three others. I think even The Captains Compass does now.

Another question. What’s likely to be open in early October?

You can have a wonderful time in early October. Less crowded due to concerns for potential tropical weather. There are places open and sometimes that means missing places you typically go, as they are not open. But places will be open on Anegada, North Sound, Virgin Gorda, Tortola(Cane Garden Bay,, Trellis, Sopers Hole), JVD, and Scrub.I have been every month of the year and enjoy them all. During Covid, I hunkered down for a tropical storm in the USVI in Megan's bay for 2 1/2 days and it was a great memory with the crew and the storm passed a little further south than expected. So every trip is different.... enjoy the differences !

Thanks for the information. Specifically, will Soggy and Hendos be open?

Thought Voyage and Conch are closed in September, but could be wrong. DYC's fleet comes back online Sep 25.

I was thinking about October, so you may be right.

We normally go in October because we love not having a crowd. Of course, if you’re the “gotta have at least a couple of good parties”, then don’t go in October. For example, while Soggy’s is open, when we there in Oct 2019 it was only the four of us. Only a couple of the restaurants were open and if one of the other couple of boats in the mooring field were charters I didn’t see any name brand on the boats. Coopers is probably the most popular place in October.

Always buy the insurance if you’re going in October. Irma killed our trip in 2017, but insurance paid up. One of our party recently had a medical situation where we may have to cancel our trip. While I’d hate to miss it, I’m not worried about losing the down payment and such.

Went in September for the first time last year and loved it-- though perhaps for the novelty of being the only boat in most of the places we went. Being the only boat in the mooring field at Leverick, at Anegada, at White Bay, and at the Bight was bizarre but enjoyable. The full moon party at Trellis lacked the usual fires from Aragorn or the jumbies, which left the kids a little disappointed, and we certainly would have eaten at more restaurants had they been open, but the solitude was really nice.

That plus the lowest plane and boat prices of the year is hard to beat in my book, but for the wife and the kids, next trip will be when more stuff is open.

The second half of October most places are open but aside from the interline regatta not many boats. You are also out of the worst of the hurricane season.
