Just heard there was an earthquake a few hours ago. Here’s the BVI News link

That article is very misleading. The earthquake's epicenter was 6.6 at 10KM depth, but not when it reached the BVI, over 150 miles away. I grew up in Japan and have been through several quakes. A 6.6 would have flattened the BVI infrastructure; somewhat similar to what IRMA did. see theUSGS Earthquake Map to get the real information. I can't believe that this is the official news. It was a 3.0 earthquake when it hit the BVI, and the Richter scale has this to say about a 3 earthquake: "Often felt by people, but very rarely causes damage. Shaking of indoor objects can be noticeable."

News reporting here is mostly to be taken with a grain of salt. I have attached the USGS intensity map for yesterday's quake. It was less then a 3.0 when it reached the BVI.
