Well, we watched the KonTiki head to the mangroves yesterday afternoon, and there is a steady stream of yachts this morning. There were still a lot of fishing boats in Red Hook earlier, guess they are trying to figure out which way to go. It is gorgeous right now, but will be changing later today. The forecast seems to be pushing it north of us, which is the better scenario. We will see what we will see.

Gonzalo is said to be rapidly intensifying. Take care and stay safe!

Stay Dry Nutmeg and make sure you have enough Red Wine on hand to wait out the storm.

Tom: Yes, red wine, but I usually get too anxious to imbibe, until the darn thing is passed. Just checked on your friends who seem to be in the St John spirit.

Oh, and the Carnival Valor was in port today! They seem to be leaving toward the east-southeast. I don't know what their next port is.

"too anxious to imbibe"??? What's wrong with this picture??? Be safe and report back when you can..

Your view must be similar to mine. Just watched the Carnival ship head out. The Kon Tiki is in YHG, not the mangroves. Crown Bay is nearly empty.
According to marine traffic.com the Valor is headed for Barbados.

Thanks for checking on our friends.

I have found that:

one glass to calm the nerves
Two glasses with dinner
One glass before you go to bed

And you will sleep through the storm.

And remember what your parents told you
STAY INSIDE and don't play in the rain.

Hang tuff!

The jog to the north kept things here copasetic. From Wind Alert, it looks like we didn't get anything more than 30mph gusts last night. Anguilla and St. Maarten/Martin appear to have been in the cross-hairs for this one.

Kimber: I just assumed the KonTiki went to the mangroves. They were tearing across the harbor Sunday. I was afraid someone would spill their rum punch. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />

Glad the VI faired well and hope the folks in SXM and AXA recover quickly.

Yes, SXM got hit pretty hard. Haven't heard anything from Anguilla yet.
