BVI propane regulations - affects USVI? - 03/17/2022 03:32 PM
There's message traffic on the BVI forum about boats being locked down due to some issue with a new propane safety regulation. Does anyone (e.g. CYOA) know exactly what the regulation is, and whether it applies to charter boats coming from USVI?

The interesting thing is that the BVI regulation change appears to be the result of a possible propane gas explosion on a USVI charter boat.

There was a boat fire at Great Harbor, JVD too. Was that propane related?

I did not hear about the Jost fire but propane would certainly be one of the things you look at.

Jay Pederson posted from CYOA/Waypoint, on Facebook, that all their boats are legal on BVI safety and customs rule changes. I'm sorry that doesn't answer your question about the actual law, just confirms that charter companies in the USVI have knowledge about the law and at least one has stood up to say their fleet is current.
