SJU layover hotel - recommendations? - 01/18/2015 11:23 PM
Apologize if this has already been covered ad-nauseum but I couldn't find anything. We arrive SJU Saturday March 14 at 11pm on Southwest and depart for EIS/Tortola the next morning at 8am on Seaborne. Would appreciate any recommendations for a convenient and economical hotel for what will be about 6 hours - 2 adults and 2 children, will need only one room.

It's not the Ritz by any stretch (the Ritz is 5 minutes outside the airport) but if all that you're looking for is a convenient room for a few hours then consider the hotel in the airport. It's not luxury, the rooms are small, but it's in the airport.

The Courtyard Miramar is at 209.00 for that night. I have never stayed their but it gets good reviews on TA. Most reviews say they stayed there on a layover.

We've also stayed at the Airport Hotel. It's been a while.
Best thing is that it is right there -- no wait for shuttle, etc.
When we stayed there was WiFi in the lobby and WIRED (bring a network cable) in the room. Both free.

Define "economical".
In addition to the Airport Hotel already mentioned check out the following that are all about a 10 minute drive cab ride from the airport:
Holiday Inn Express
Hampton Inn & Suites
Embassy Suites
Courtyard by Marriott
Intercontinental
ESJ Towers
Holiday Inn express

We stayed at Embassy Suites in December. Booked on Hotels.com, very reasonable price included Happy Hour and breakfast. Our room was renovated. Airport taxi around $ 20.
