Does anyone have any experiences or comments about Azure Hotel on Simpson Bay Beach?
Thanks in advance.

I have toured the property and looked at some of the rooms. Nice location and beach. It is very near The Horny Toad. When are you looking at staying as I am pretty sure I read they were closing sometime in the not so distant future.

I have been in contact with them about staying there 8/4 to 8/18 next year. They did say that these dates were open.

Ok, perhaps I am mistaken or they decided not to close. If you want a pretty laid back experience right on the beach, you should be fine with it.

Do you mean closing for vacation?

No. I am almost positive I saw it reported or posted somewhere that they were closing for good. As I stated, perhaps I am mistaken or plans changed. I have tried to find it but to no avail. If you are in communication with them, ask about it. I have stayed at Horny Toad many times and really enjoy the area and beach.

While I have not stayed there, I believe the rooms are very small. As JD has said, Horny Toad, where I have stayed, is close by. The rooms at Horny Toad are spacious. Neither have a swimming pool, if that's important to you.

Met someone last week who extended their Timeshare by adding a few days at Azure before hand. They said it was pretty nice.

I have stayed there many times and love it. I thought they were closing starting this month. The plan is for totally redoing the property and being open next year with an updated facility on the perfect beach.

Thank you. I am almost sure I read something about a closing.

We are there now. They are open through mid April of 2018 at least. Some time after that, they will be closing for major renovations. The date is not def set. We have stayed many times and we love it here.

They were supposed to start renovations (basically a complete tear down and rebuild) this year, but were delayed due to next year due to technical reason with their permit. I was trying to find when they posted they were open till, but could not find it. Pretty sure it is around the time pburke40 quoted.

Yes. They appear to very small. A pool is nice, but not a deal breaker if the beach is nice.
Based on all the helpful info from this board, we decided to hold off on Azure and see what developed in the future.
Meanwhile, he found a nice 2 bedroom condo up the beach from Azure. More money, but it is very nice for the price.
Thanks again to all for the help. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Not sure where on the beach your two bedroom condo is located, but the beach towards the bridge has sea urchins and rocks and is not accessible for swimming. We looked at a beautiful condo at that end but decided against it because we could not swim there.

From the Azure towards the bridge has great beach but swimming is the issue, rocky ledges, sea urchines, etc. going towards the airport swimming gets much better. I normally stay in a condo right next to Azure - great location. Enjoy!

I HAVE stayed there three times and space in the unit totally depends on which room you have because each one is different. Their website is quite clear about each unit. I would describe them as "funky casual". Mike and Fawnette are superb hosts and the beach is very wide at their location and the view is spectacular. It has been a few years since we've been there and I am anxious to see it after the remodel. Great spot for a day or two on either end of the timeshare vacation to catch better flights. And IMO a good value.
