Day 3

Day 3 - 10/29/2019 12:32 PM

It rained all day yesterday and the waves were super huge on Simpson bay beach so we headed up to see Bruno and hope Orient beach had better weather but it did not. We spent some time talking with Bruno and make arrangements to return today. Bruno has been running iron man competitions and looks fabulous.

Angie who is with Magic of the Caribbean dropped off a discount card which David won from another site. We used it last night at Sale & Pepe and received 10% off our check.

Once Bruno confirmed rain was expected all day and he was uncertain if he was going to open up the kitchen we left and went to SMYC for lunch. We had their signature bloody mary's (mine with shrimp). Oh my still so good. I had the goat cheese salad with a ranch dressing that hit the spot.

Back to BSV to cocktail and make plans for dinner. One couple in our party was celebrating their wedding anniversary so they wanted to eat at Sale & Pepe. Thankfully the rain had stopped and there was a lovely breeze sitting in the outdoor covered area overlooking the marina. Their new location is beautiful. Service was very good (my second time there) but there was a few mishaps. Most of us loved their dinners but one was very unhappy and another had undercooked lamb. It was raw inside. he asked them to recook which they did and he was satisfied. Our unhappy friend was disappointed that one item which the dish came with was missing. when she asked they said the didn't get the shipment in. She ordered it because of the item so returned the dish. Our waitress was lovely and by day she's the chef on the Enigma. She brought over complimentary shots of lemoncello and a huge piece of tiramasu for the anniversary couple.

Ended the evening at the casino in Maho. Most played roulette, fun night. Home around midnight. (I will try to post a few photos to this post)

Thanks for the reports. Sale and Pepe seems to be hit or miss with both service and food.

What was the missing item. Patron should have been informed when order was placed.

Sounds like the trip is going well. Hope the rain holds off for the next few days. I think Neil is the chef on Enigma, but the waitress there may be part of the staff, perhaps the hostess and assistant there. Looking forward to dining at this new location.

It is Captain Neil's big boat called Enigma Celine 3 that does wonderful day cruises to Anguilla and other spots on the island.

Elizabeth she said she was the only chef and first mate. I only know what she told me.

All I know is that Johan used to be the chef on Neil's boats.

Fabila: Neil has been training Elizabeth in the galley for some time now. She is doing a fantastic job preparing Neil's recipies for lunch.

Carol: Johan has not been on the boat for years now. He helped his father as a deck hand but never was the chef. Johan worked on mega yatchs for a time as a chef.

A day sail on Enigma/C3 is still rated by Trip Advisor as the best meal you may have on the island. Not to mention a fantastic day on the water in a beautiful boat.
PS: the new mast is being installed today. So full sail trips will be coming soon for this high season.

Gary--I know he has not been there for a while, but Johan was the chef on one of Neil's boats for a while.
