Well that is disheartening. Can you post the pic?

Do not count your insurance checks yet? That may be only one cluster and a fraction of the herds of boats stuffed into every corner of that bay.

The Moorings suffered considerable damage, too.

Scroll down, there are a bunch of photos of what is left of The Moorings / Sunsail base...which doesn't appear to be much.

So sad to see ~
Seeing this got me wondering ~ what to charter companies do if they have lost part / all their fleet and have charters scheduled in the next months...Nov..Dec & upcoming busy season. Do they work together and try to help each other out..lending boats like I have heard they do when one goes out of service and they have a charter booked? Was just thinking because the area depends on the charter business so much and with this much damage to the area people....captains, charter company employees will most likely be needing the income to repair and rebuild.

Thanks for the links. Hoping my boat made it but more so hoping that no loss of life and the islands recover quickly! It is such a beautiful place. Not sure how quickly the charter companies can recover without boats.

This is the more powerful hurricane on record.
It went right over Drake Channel with 185 mph winds and 10-foot storm surge.
I will hope for the best, but it seems highly unlikely that there will be any cruising in November.

Highschool in Tortola is heavily damaged. No trees. Sebastian's area looks really bad too. Any word or pictures of Jost?

Not many boats left. May have to write off the season.

There are so many more boats now. I remember when we would ALL be in there. Unbelievable the photos of the devastation. I wonder how many will be replaced...The Islands may go back to the 70s and 80s time, for a while at least. No cruise ships...imagine.
