Tourist Entry Date? - 10/08/2017 05:33 PM
I had a friend who was attending the boat show in Annapolis check with some BVI folks about progress. They stated one issue is tourists will not be permitted until approved by the government, regardless of boats ready for charter. Does anyone have insight into a possible date?

BVI C&I is variable and is dependent on the individual Officer's opinion and interpretation of the law.

Based on my experience yesterday the C&I suck. Lazy and worse attitude then before the storm.

Shout out to Jim Kelly. I believe he posted that tourists can enter and the ferry system was in operation to some degree. I don't want to tell you more than I know, which I have been known to do, so listen for Jim.

As of 3 days ago only citizens, landowners and disaster relief workers were permitted entry. I don't believe that has changed.

Actually the term is property owners, not land owners.

Property Owners with a "non-belonger" land holding license. Say that three times fast!
T-24 days till we make landfall on Jost, fingers crossed.
Folks in the USVI have been running boats to JVD on the weekends for clean up and partying. These folks could technically qualify as tourists. But they are there on a limited basis so that may be why that is acceptable.

The Department of Tourism put out a press release stating that visitors won't be let into the BVI until November 1st. We are the first charter out of Nanny Cay scheduled to arrive October 28th. I saw the press release yesterday and contacted our charter company who is diligently working on resolving this but as of now, I understand that we would be turned away. I have a copy of the press release.

There was an announcement yesterday that they were allowing "Friends and family" of residents to enter for "aid and comfort" so, as we are all family here, "Uncle Manpot" might need some of both. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Grin.gif" alt="" />
