Is the approach to Anegada the same or did the buoy's get swept away?

I believe I read recently that the final green buoy is missing - if you go through a few of the recent trip reports, I believe the approach is mentioned.

The buoys are still there...just not necessarily in the right places! From memory its the final buoy on your way in that has moved the most, you need to go well past it before making your 90 degree turn to port to enter the mooring field.

But approach is still the same if you follow (and trust) your chart plotter. We had no issues. Just took it very slowly and kept one eye on the echo sounder.

Unless it was replaced in the past 2 weeks, the innermost green can is still missing where you make your 90° turn towards Setting Point. The location is accurately marked on Navionics charts.

I would say the other markers didn't move much - there is good depth within the channel.

Check with Walker on www.bvipirate.com if you want the latest info. I know he is there now.

Don’t follow or trust the chart plotter. Use the waypoints from Walkers site. Several of the plotters have the entrance as much as a quarter of a mile off. The same Charter plotter can show the entrance in different locations depending on your direction of arrival and which chart it’s using from its database. The GPS will be right on. The chart overlays not so much.

Unless you draw more than 6' the Setting Point mooring field is easy. Even if you touch bottom its very soft mud. At slow speeds it will not cause damage and you can drive out of the low spots. Or so I have heard.
