Leaving for BVI Wednesday, do airlines allow fishing lures and hooks on carry on luggage or just checked?

It’s not the airline but rather the TSA who set the rules regarding what items you can put in your carryons. There guidelines are a bit vague about fishing lures - it depends on the size of the hook. You can read the regulations here: https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/whatcanibring/all-list

This is one of those situywhere you’ll be at the mercy of the TSA agent who is on duty when you clear the checkpoint. If he/she says “no” it is difficult to argue with them.

That TSA list is amazing. I can't wait to board with my artificial skeleton whilst I bake bread in my bread machine and do some laser hair removal with my pet lobster.

But don't forget to put your Magic 8 ball in your checked luggage. LOL
