Peaceful Eastern North Carolin...

Saturday was spent at Coco Beach on Orient. I probably don't need to make a reservation there, but always do. The restaurant and beach staff remember us, and the service is always the best. Cinde and Dave walked up from Club O, and we had a nice conversation with them; so much fun to finally meet them in person! We spent a relaxing morning on the beach before moving into the restaurant for a leisurely lunch. The roasted black cod on the specials board caught our eye, so we both ordered that, along with a bottle of our favorite rosé, Peuch Haut. The cod was perfectly cooked, with a crispy skin, nestled over vegetables and served with a flacon of lemon butter sauce to add as you like. It's the best meal we've had so far. We shared a dessert from the menu; layers of mousse and crunchy cookie: delicious. Back to the beach to rest from all that effort, and an espresso martini to finish the day.
After a quiet Sunday by the pool at La Vista Beach, we went to Bamboo for cocktails and sushi. Fortunately, we had finished eating when the heavy downpours hit, so our food didn't get wet, although we did. Still a fun evening with friends. Stopped by Hole in the Wall for a cocktail before heading in for the night.
Monday was a Friar's day. David had ribs, and Todd, MJ, and I had burgers.
Tuesday was spent at Grand Case Beach Club. I had a tuna poke bowl, don't remember what everyone else had, but it was all good, as it always is there.
Second half comes soon.

Thanks for the report. We also really enjoy a large, leisurely lunch on the beach, accompanied by a crisp rose'. I don't drink rose' here at home much at all, but it is by far my favorite wine on the beach in SXM. If it's on the menu, it's Emotion Rose', because we had it at Dreams several times. Sigh..
So, how was the road to GCBC? Do they have good burgers there? That's one place that I would not think to have a burger.

Sorry, yes, that's what I meant. OK, I always get something very French there. How are the fries? As I recall, their fries are very good.
