Phone Usage Question - 02/01/2016 02:00 PM
Quick question for you "Island Experts". What is the proper procedure for using my american cell phone to place a call on St Martin? Seems like last year we finally made a call after quite a few attempts but I don't remember the procedure. We have to call our Condo Manager once we land to set up a meeting time. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have an old Blackberry and I would dial the number exactly as indicated. Works for me

On most cell phones, holding down the 0 key will generate a +, then dial exactly as shown, 590 590 529 463.
If you store it in your contacts list as +590 590 529 463 it should work just fine. I store any phone which I might need to call from both the US and on-island that way.
The + is the international access code, the first 590 is the country code (like 1 for the US), the second 590 is the city code (similar to a US area code), and 529 463 is the individual number.

also, many times to set up on a different carrier you have to remove the battery and put it back to "reset" the phone.
