Interior of La Belle Creole

Most of these photos may look like drone photos but are taken on a ground camera through the windows on upper floors of some of the buildings. The video(s) that come down the road will show the rooms much better.

I stay on Mont Choisy just south of GC. I was totally unaware that I could see La Belle Creole from the villa but when we were in the tower at La Belle Creole, I could see the villa in the distance. The resort is easily viewable from Marigot.

There’s a couple photos at David’s Hole at the end. We didn’t stay there long nor did I put the drone up.

what's with that wall of pictures? It looks creepy...

From what I recall, the pictures are of the employees, and I think the picture with the red X through it is a manager of the resort. I guess someone didn't like him...

90% of the pictures are the same person.

My wife and I hiked down there one day after a great lunch at Le Sand (ya, skipped Bruno for a day - rare!)

Tough beach walk....seaweed and mounds of garbage. It is criminal what gets thrown in the ocean.

Walked all around, went for a skinny at the beautiful little beach. Only then did we see two "residents". They were not friendly, so we beat it out of there.

I forget the story of this place, but it is a crying shame. One of the most beautiful pieces of property in SXM, and it lies there in ruins, after all these years.

Let's buy it!

Beach kitten and I walked it last Halloween with our husbands. Creepy but beautiful at the same time!

Anybody know what the story is of the dilapidated buildings above Happy Bay?

Above Happy Bay is another, once was Hotel. Used to house Gendarmes in the 1990's.

Kim and I went thoroughly through the main buildings and some out-buildings! We saw A LOT.

The kitchen was dark and creepy AF! But we had each other to be brave. But yeah, we didn't lift that sheet!!!!

A local elder with knowledge about Happy Bay informed me about the Happy Bay buildings.
Happy Bay resort was built in 1985/87.. The main building housing the reception had a restaurant was never completed. The company belonged to a guy called Ledoré. He got a loan from a bank, then he never paid it back, so the bank (BRED) seized the property.
He died a few years ago, his wife and son took over but did not give one cent to the bank. Up to this day the BRED bank is the owner. The resort was never completed or opened.
For a few years gendarmes lived in the villas.

Such a waste.. Maybe some day someone will be able to develop that area profitably.
