Grand Case restaurants - 01/11/2024 03:30 AM

It has been some time since our last visit. Who is still in business? I hope Bistrot and Le Cottage.

Both still there but with a more modern look of chrome and cement. Le Bistronome up near Le Pressoir is a quaint small intimate place owned by Chantal formerly of Sunset Cafe at Grand Case Beach Club . Food is excellent.

Le pressoir was sold and we didn't like it as much as before. Another new place near Le Pressoir, and across from parking lot on waterside is NICE restaurant (NEECE as in the French area) great water view, excellent food some tapas as well as full plates. Husband and wife from Nice France run the place.

La Villa still great. Calmos Cafe as reopened. L'Estiment is gone. Rainbow still there, more of a beach place now not the former upscale from the 80's Music most days.

Le Cottage is still kicking and very delicious.

If you're a foodie I would make sure to put Le Pressoir at the top of the list.
Yes it was voted the number 1 restaurant in the Caribbean for good reason by Caribbean Journal.
The food is upscale compared to some of the fore mentioned restaurants and pricing is also more for the quality of food.
The atmosphere is upscale since the renovation and the husband and wife team take care of the service offering tableside service not found in many other restaurants.
The full tasting menu is recommended although the 3 course prix fix is also a nice introduction to their food
While not a big rum fan. connected is a rum bar with 100's of choices and knowledgeable staff

Le Cottage is another one of our many favorites with great wine choices and also a menu which is a bit different. Always at the top of list.

While we have dined at Bistro Caraibes solely for the lobster Thermidor and yes the service, it has been replaced on this years list mostly because a respectable lobster can be found at a much lower price keeping in mind that I don't mind blowing the budget on any meal.
Also the menu rarely has any new choices

Another new favorite is Le Galets located across from the main entrance to Orient (hill side).
Maybe about 8-10 tables around the pool much like Astrolab.
The prix fix is prepared by a chef with Michelin training and I find the pricing to be excellent considering the food served.
The real star of the show is the best cheese cart on the island although there is very little completion.
Maybe about 20 choices and you are allowed to enjoy as much as you choose.

If you really want to blow the budget and like "Michelin worthy food", we enjoyed our prix fix at La Villa Hibiscus in the former Sole e Luna.
Only negative comment is that it is a bit overpriced but
They are also open for lunch if you wished to try it out.

Lastly a rainy day luncheon suggestion.
Bacchus in mount hope estate is outstanding and like eating dinner midday.
Their caviar prices are excellent and not marked up in the restaurant and the same as if you purchased from the attached wine store
They do serve an unusual wine with their foie gras which I purchased several bottles to take home at a third of the price of a sauterne
I could several hours walking through the isles of wine and culinary things

If you'd like to try somewhere (relatively) new look at Les Oliviers in Grand Case is new and somewhat different - and good (based on our four visits to date).
in November at least).

Thank you for this addition. We'll try it next visit. What is it near? Up by Rainbow area or down by Le Pressoir?

Is it in a place that was previously a restaurant? If so do you remember the name?

We've eaten there both this past October and the November before. Both times excellent food, drinks and service. Owned and run by a lovely young couple. We love to sit upstairs and look at the lights on Anguilla.
