Watching it right now ... terrible! Strange that they are not trying to control this fire with aircraft or helicopters.

My understanding is that the exterior had a lot of lead siding over the 800 year old wood and they had great difficulty getting water to the flames. Terrible loss.

Correct. That's what the fire officials stated. That was a silly idea in this context.
