Asian Fish Steamed in Packets - 03/06/2010 04:22 PM

This recipe was in my daily newpaper last week. I made it last night using Tilipia and it was delicious.

Asian Fish Steamed in Packets

1 1/2 lbs. flounder, sole or other flaky white fish
4 green onions, cut into 1-inch lengths
2 tsp seasame oil
2 tsp low-sodium soy sauce
1 tsp rice vinegar
1/2 tsp honey
1 tsp toasted sesame seeds

Heat oven to 425 degrees. Tear four lengths of parchment paper or foil, each about 18 inches long. Fold each length across in half, unfold. Divid fish among the parchment pieces. Top with the green onions.

Whisk together the sesame oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar and honey until honey is disolved. Drizzle over the fish; sprinkle each with sesame seeds. Crimp or fold over the edges to form sealed packets. Place on two baking sheets.

Bake until the packets are puffed and fish is done. 10-15 mins. Transfer packets to serving plates. Cut the top of the packets carefully to avoid the escaping steam. Serve and enjoy.

Boy I have to try this one. Sounds delicious! I am trying to figure out where the 9g. of fiber comes from?

It is very good and so easy to prepare. As for the 9 g that is a typo...sorry should be 0. Guess I should proof read better! I'll see if I can change it.

You're welcome, Brad. Another good easy one is mix two parts mayo (not non-fat) to one part dijon mustard. Spread on Tilipia, top with crush pecans and cook in oven at 425 for 10 or 15 mins. I season the fish first with a little salt and pepper before putting the spread on.

Annie, That sounds real good too. And for me, non-fat mayo never crosses my threshhold! That ..........stuff, isn't mayo!!

Georiga...you are welcome! I was pleasantly surpised at all good it was last night. I think the next time I make it I might add some ginger.

Sounds really good Annie! The sesame seeds would definitely provide fibre! I love fish recipes and try to eat fish two or three times a week. I do a lot of different fish packets on the grill and they are so good!
