Lagoon 52 - looking for pics - 10/19/2015 07:02 PM

Anyone have a picture of the bunk room on a Lagoon 52?

Been searching for weeks and nothing.
Thanks.

The bunkberths are not in any pictures that I've been able to find, manufacturer or otherwise.

The manufacturers almost never take photos of any spaces that are not easy to get a flattering shot of because they run the risk of showing the boat in a bad light.

The bunk berths are usually used for crew, so are often considered unimportant.

TMM has a new Lagoon 52 doing its first charter starting on November 23. I will be there to get shots for our website and I always include the bunk berths ... provided it is possible to photograph them. Based on the layout, I don't see why not.

Sorry I can't help any sooner than that ... but if you can wait. I will have photos on our website (bareboatsbvi.com) by November 24th. Its a long way off, I know but it's the best I can do. Sorry.

Having said that, based on the yacht layout, it is a reasonably sized space with good sized bunks, so if you are worried that it may be too small for 2 average sized adults, I wouldn't be concerned at all. If the people who will occupy the space are x-large, you "may" have a problem as the berths are not all that wide but they are 6'9 long x 3' wide, tapering at the foot ... according to the information I have.

Thanks for the info. Actually looking to have a single "stow away" join our trip. She's considering going, but the only space I have is the stacked bunks. I was concerned about splitting costs since sometimes bunk space is as you said, crew space.

Well, that cabin has it's own head and as I said, the bunks are a reasonable size. I mean the normal single bed is 3' x 6'3", and this one is 6'9 ... so the fact that it tapers at the feet is really the only "issue" she could possibly have if she happens to be very tall.

Sure, it is a pretty small cabin, but it is air conditioned and she has a private head. With the extra space of the empty bunk above, she'll have more storage space than anyone else on the boat.

I would charge her just a little less than half of what the others are paying for the standard queen cabins.

I have not seen the cabin myself yet, but based on many years of selling bareboat charters and based on the layout, I am guessing that it is probably the largest and most comfortable over/under bunk cabin you will find on any charter yacht under about 60'.

I stepped aboard the L52 at the Annapolis Sailboat Show earlier this month. Although it wasn't named BuyaLagoon, TMM's L52, I heard it was that very vessel. Very impressive yacht, it had the bunks you described. I suggest you contact Annapolis Yacht Sails and ask for a picture. I would also keep an eye out for YouTube videos' likely that someone will post one after touring the L52 in Annapolis. I would encourage you to offer a discount for the person staying in these quarters compared to the lucky ones who get to stay in the huge owner's cabin or the port aft cabin.

Cheers,

Tony
